Hey, folks!
I'll shortly be headed out for a remote summer job. I'll have periodic access to electricity and service, but for the most part, I'll be off the grid! I'll still be making traditional art (and posting when I can), but for the time being, digital commissions are closed. If you are interested in getting put on a waitlist, feel free to DM me, and I'll put your name down! 🌞
[ID: A digital painting of a forest scene, with a tree covered in ivy, lichen, and mushrooms in focus. Hanging from one of it's branches is a wooden sign that reads "OUT IN THE WOODS! I'LL BE BACK AUG 28."]

What sort of brushes do you use for your digital art?
Usually, it's default brushes in Procreate! :) I almost always use the 6B Pencil for lines, the Studio Pen for blocking & filling large areas of color (or anything else with a nice, clean edge that won't leave crunchy spots when I use the fill tool), and then for painting and texture, I tend to gravitate towards using the Inka, Spectra, & 6B Pencil brushes. I have a couple of cheap paintbrush packs that I sometimes supplement with (Sinix & Sargent's Oils), but my usual style leans most heavily on that mix of the defaults! ❤️

Good morning everyone! ☀️
I am thrilled to announce that my short comic HEARTSONG has been published in the Santa Fe Writers Project's quarterly issue, no. 25! This issue was made by and edited by LGBTQ+ writers, and is created around the theme of unmaking and remaking. If that sounds like your kinda thing, take a look at the pieces featured! :)

For something a little bit different, this is a "Draw In Your Style" challenge from @gawki! :) If you don't know them already, go check out the original! They are an incredible artist with lots of cool prints and products available (I just bought a shirt from them a couple weeks ago!) & also have an ongoing "Death To The Pipelines" fundraiser up on their website! For more information on how to fight Line 3 & support indigenous water protectors, check out this link.

Rusalka, Lake Maiden, Kelpie, Selkie, Merrow, and Morgen - a little compilation of my water spirits series for mermay! 🌊
[ID: A series of six digital artworks, depicting various popular water spirit figures in mythology. The first is a rusalka holding a lantern, accompanied by a white swan. The second is a lake maiden with white cloth wrapped around her waist, holding a golden sword. The third is a kelpie with a horse skull headpiece, standing hip deep in murky water. The fourth is a selkie with curly red hair and a seal coat draped over her head. The fifth is a merrow watching a sunset, wearing a delicate pearly headpiece. The sixth is a morgen curled on a rock under a moonlight tide, wearing a glimmering seashell necklace.]

HEARTSONG: Finding your way after you’ve lost it.
IDs under the cut!
[ID 1: A short comic about gender identity. The cover page is an overview of an emerald green ocean. Text reads: “HEARTSONG / BY BECKETT ATTICUS.”]
[ID 2: A child is tidepooling in ankle-deep water. Their hair is blonde and chin length, and they are wearing a pink T-shirt. Two seagulls fly overhead. The child picks up a brilliant purple mussel shell, and their eyes go wide. Sunbeams break through the gray clouds ahead of them. Text reads: “MAYBE YOU HAD SOMETHING. JOY, OR PASSION. SOMETHING THAT MADE YOUR HEART SING. AND MAYBE YOU LOST IT.”]
[ID 3: Three panels shows the child’s hair growing longer. In the third, they are curled up with their face to their hands. Then, a series of closeups of hands on their hair, and a pair of scissors that snip a long strand. Text reads: “MAYBE IT’S BEEN GONE FOR A LONG, LONG TIME. MAYBE YOU HAVE DESPAIRED - BUT KNOW THIS: A DAY WILL COME WHEN IT WILL ALL SLIDE INTO PLACE.”]
[ID 4: The child, a teenager now, puts a hand on the mirror and looks at himself. His hair is cropped short, and a brilliant blue sky reflects in the mirror behind him. There is a close-up of him in a baseball cap, then of him doing a testosterone shot. Another close-up of his lower jaw with sparse stubble, and of him buttoning up a green shirt - top surgery scars are visible. A close-up of his eyes, and then of ocean water. Text reads: “AND YOU WILL RECOGNIZE WHAT WAS MISSING. AND THEN, WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT,”]
[ID 5: He is an adult now. He stands in ankle-deep water on the beach, surrounded by tidepools, a lighthouse in the distance. He picks up a shimmering mussel shell, smaller in his hands this time. He stands to face the light, and sunbeams break through the cloud cover. Text reads: “IT WILL COME BACK AND YOUR HEART WILL SING ONCE MORE.”]

Keeping guard.
[ID: A digital painting of a black dog with glowing white eyes, standing in profile, with its head turned to look at the viewer. The dog is standing in an old cemetery, with cracked and eroded tombstones all around it. Billowing clouds of pale green fog surround the dog and tombstones, and small green lights float around them, illuminating the scene.]
