Was Burke trying to block the location of the alarm? *above image*

Hicks first looks to his right. Is Ripley there? *above image*

Then he glances to the center. Does he see the facehugger approaching Ripley? *above image*

I keep replaying this scene a lot because I love Hicks's reaction throughout. At first it's reactive when he realizes  there' a fire in med lab and then in extreme concern when knows that Ripley is in there as he's running to there while stopping to get the fire extenguisher and commanding for Hudson and Vasquez to meet him at the lab. Then the look of terror, fear and ugency as he's looking through the glass in milliseconds before he yells out "Shoot it out"

Running towards Ripley just as the other are entering  the lab.

Immediately grabs and pulls away the facehugger (FH)  

At this point, Vasquez let’s go of the tail to get her weapon. But it took all 4 of them to carefully remove the FH off of Ripley before it made contact. Lord, that’s so stressful.

Hicks is the family protector here, he’s so concern for Ripley and gripping them for dear life. It was so intense inducing while taxing on the nerve that Hudson placed his hand on Hicks to reassure him how the other one is dead.

I always thought Rin and Kohaku would be the future couple since they got along well and more importantly, talked.  

Rumiko Takahashi: "For me, Sesshomaru is a father / parental figure (to Rin)" (March, 2021)

And that's canon. Finally, the author of Inuyasha herself has confirmed her interpretation of Sesshomaru and Rin's relationship as one of father figure/daughter. She could have said that she thought of them as a future couple, but she didn't. She could have said they were just "companions" or "friends" like some people want to interpret their relationship, but she didn't, because she doesn't see them that way. The word she used (Hogosha) is used in contexts related to parents and parental relationships. She had that in mind as she portrayed Sesshomaru and Rin's interactions, and that implies that:

Sesshomaru and Rin's interactions were never intended to be romantic.

The kimonos Sesshomaru gave Rin were NOT courtship gifts. They were gifts from a father to his daughter.

Sesshomaru never cared for Rin because he was in love with her, but because he loved her as his own daughter.

Jaken's taking care of Rin doesn't exclude Sesshomaru from being a father figure.

Sesshoumaru helped raise Rin and he never intended to marry her.

OG Sesshomaru is not a pedophile. He is a protector of children.

So yeah, it's official: they are father and daughter. The rest is a bad fanfic.
