22. a book you hated but now love

oh man this is a tough one bc if i dislike a book then there is Very little chance im going to go back to it dfgdh

the only thing that Really comes to mind is the lord of the rings- i tried to read it a while ago and was Not Interested At All, but i recently listened to the audiobook while i was working in the lab and i actually found myself enjoying it a lot :’) maybe one day i will get around to reading the whole series,,,

the last book i read was ‘other minds’ by peter godfrey-smith, it’s a non-fiction book abt the evolution of intelligent life + challenging what is meant by consciousness and sentience specifically focusing on octopi, cuttlefish and other cephalopods!! it was a really insightful piece and it made me think a lot, also reinforced my stance that octopi are some of The coolest animals (read: yes i did indeed enjoy it)
