So I'm watching the idol
And it's like Abe just took my 17year old brain and broke it on a glass living room table.
I have shards of glass in my nostril and cheekbones and frankly I don't mind cause I'm blindfolded.

No ok on a serious note this is one of those works where it's maddening, the reality of what's told. I can't help but feel insecure. As the protagonist is. Then again. It's honest in its ideas on care in the context. Really enjoyed the first 3episodes. It's sexy, it's being taken advantage of, it's manipulative, it's a subtle reminder of power and it's source. And what happens to who ever touches it.

Growing up and being born in a colonizing country does still not mean this is our personal legacy. It is however a global one. One that starts and leaves all over the damn place. We can and always have lived around and with looters and exploiters, it's a reality that has most likely been that way since primordial times. Yet no, perhaps back then there was an understanding in simply letting someone survive, live. However looting like how a coloniser do and how Robin hood does is quite different. But let's not waste much of our precious time to repent on mens story that are already engraned on our special little big brains. Read liliths' story. Hence the existence of war in my opinion. Adam getting pissed cause he didn't wanna be on the bottom during intercourse (lol, that this is a old testament thing - I just can't). I can only imagine what stories are clustered around that. Since lilith's story is only mentioned in the Old Testament as a being created as Adam's equal, not from out of his rib but from dust, then becomes a wanderer of the outskirts in the Bible, and simply does not exist in the Quran. Yet again women's stories are non existing. We all much rather look for things on the internet than simply listening to bipoc women. How old the idea that woman is equal to man. And how invisible. As I am watching a Gauguin painting being sold for a lot of money in auction, I tell myself that the worth these women on that canvas have is priceless, well before they were ever put on that canvas.
