Can you imagine Rhysand seeing Feyre wearing a dress his mother made for the first time though. And that happened even before she accepted the bond, like the self control he must have taken him to not get on his knees and weep at the memories of his mother and the feelings he has for Feyre. How he must have thought about his mother meeting his mate and how he must have felt proud and heartbroken at the same time. In awe too at the sight of his beautiful mate.
The damn feelings and he controlled it all and didn’t say a word, he just stood there and took it all in not knowing if other dresses his mother made for his future bride would ever be worn by Feyre because at that time he was probably convinced it wouldn’t get better than Feyre accepting to be around him. Can you imagine him having to look at those dresses and knowing he might never have someone to wear them because his mate might never accept the bond. He took starfall as a chance to honour his mother and make his mate wear one of her dresses even if that was all he got. That sight probably would have satisfied him for the rest of his life if it’s all he could have gotten. Can you even imagine what it was like for him to even consider giving Feyre one of this dresses. Taking that dress out of the closet it had been in for many years, after 50 years under the mountain too. THE DAMN FEELS YOU GUYS

I’ve never realised this before, but the endings of ACOTAR and ACOMAF are earily similar. Both have Feyre and Tamlin, hand-in-hand, walking towards the manor in the Spring Court.
But then, at the same time, everything’s different. Feyre’s not just Tamlin’s anymore. Now she’s High Lady of the Night Court. She has very powerful allies and has allowed herself to explore her own powers and get so much stronger. Feyre is no longer left at home despite her misery, she’s a spy determined to protect her home no matter what. She’s hopeful.
The fact that so much can change in just one book really astounds me. Like, at the end of ACOTAR, it was supposed to be a happy ending. Amarantha was dead, Tamlin and Feyre were reunited. But it didn’t feel that way because Feyre was traumatised and miserable and no one was even trying to help her. In ACOMAF she finally meets people she can relate to; who genuinely care about her well being.  If that isn’t freakin’ inspirational then I don’t know what is.

any time i hear the insufferable transphobic athlete arguments i think of that one time in middle school when my boys lacrosse team did a full-contact scrimmage against the girls team (who typically play with limited contact) and i, a six-foot, 180lb defender, got utterly laid-out by this 5-foot-nothing girl experiencing the newly-unleashed animosity accompanied by violent sport and as i looked up at my assailant from flat on my back i experienced a brief bout of heterosexuality and fell wildly in love and then had to be taken to the ER because i had a concussion

Feyre fought and continued fighting for a family that never showed her any kind of appreciation or love. That’s such an incredible strength.

every once and a while I remember something Aelin thought in Crown of Midnight about Dorian that went a little something like "for a heartbeat there was something in his eyes that reminded her of a world long since burned- a glimmer of color and power that still stalked the edge of her nightmares" (page 148)
I think it's so intresting the way that SJM uses simple phrases that can torture us later when we understand it all
