A lot of things were out of Xie Lian's control.

Almost everything that had happened in that hut. Winding up in the painful crush of noise and touch and smell that made up Ghost City. Being gambled away to the Ghost King that ruled over it all.

Waking up in a soft bed with a helpful youth named San Lang who only seemed to want to ensure his comfort was one of the more pleasant options.

Wei Wuxian had actually gone to sleep that night. He thought he deserved credit for that. It didn't seem to matter though, when he suddenly woke in the middle of a battle he hadn't even been a part of, fires burning all around, and a Wen cultivator charging from the darkness for his blood. Not when he didn't know where Jiang Cheng was or what had happened to Chenqing. It mattered even less when he realised that the heat burning low in his belly was that of a golden core filling him with a strength and warmth that he hadn't known in months and thought he would never feel again.

Ling Wen doesn't like wearing dresses and uses the boys' uniform instead. For this reason she's often mistaken for a boy which drives her nuts. She's been accused of doing this for clout or preferential treatment.

Ling Wen is the president of the Computer Sciences Club and manages the school's monstrous group chat server. It is hell. She secretly can't wait to graduate because everyone else refuses to learn how to run it and she knows it'll go down in the flames the second she's out the door

Pei Ming is a certified Jock™ and tries to convince his friends to join him on a sports team -- any sports team! -- every year. Hasn't happened yet but he's persistent

(Pei Ming eventually learns that Xie Lian is a Secret Jock and begins a dedicated campaign to pilfer him from the Host Club; Hua Cheng is Not Fucking Amused)

Shi Wudu is easily the richest student in this school of rich kids and is not above throwing his wealth around to get what he wants. This earns him the less than affection nickname of "Tyrant"

He Xuan applied for this school and got through its entrance exams specifically to ruin Shi Wudu's life. No one knows this (or why he's so set on it) except Hua Cheng who thinks it's hilarious

There's a sign outside the compsci club door that says "Palace of Ling Wen". No matter how often she takes this down, one of her compsci minions will put up another of increasingly elaborate design (everyone at this school has money to burn and time to kill)

When Xie Lian and his bad luck stumbled in and broke that vase Hua Cheng thought his every prayer had been answered -- he now has an iron-clad excuse to keep Dianxia close, dress him in nice clothes, feed him nice food… ideal! He did not stop to calculate the fact that it would mean watching Xie Lian flirt with Literally Everyone. Except. Him. Yin Yu did caluclate this but no one listens to him.

yin yu gets more requests than you'd expect, specifically around exam season. he's just a pleasant, solid sort of person who handles people having exam stress breakdowns very well

he xuan is also here due to a debt he refuses to elaborate on. he could have paid it back already but he quickly realized the best food on campus is here and eats enough to dig himself deeper and deeper in debt

50/50 shot if you'll find shi qingxuan as male or female, it's a real lottery for guests that have a preference

feng xin and mu qing are both here. they are not prepared to meet xie lian again after all these years, especially not in this context. he is REALLY not prepared to meet them like this either. he'd prefer no dress, thanks.

what on god's green earth is feng xin doing in a host club when he can't handle women At All? everyone would like to know this. the only reason hua cheng hasn't kicked him out is because he finds his discomfort HILARIOUS

pei ming is a VERY enthusiastic guest to the general dismay of every host. lately though he's been having a good time eating snacks and watching hua cheng and xie lian circle around each other in a very pathetic and no-at-all-subtle way. ho ho.

I've started v7 of Heaven Official's Blessing and let me tell you I was NOT expecting some voltron-style gundam battle but I'm deeply into it

The Series 07 toy sets include Divine Statue Gundam, with Ghost King and Flower Crowned Martial God figures, as well as the God Sword set with 4 additional Heavenly Officials (though the owner of Ghost City Emporium doesn't know why you'd waste your money on that trash)

What he hadn't wanted was to find that his home had been invaded in his absence. And that this invader had apparently decided to tidy like some deranged reverse-break-and-entry. He also really, really didn't want to be confronted by a face that even centuries later still featured in his nightmares.
