Bridgerton — Season 3 Trailer

Penelope had been staring in the mirror as she waited for her husband to return to their bedroom. The ball that night had been magical, one of their first as a married couple, and she could not believe that this was her life now. It was a far cry from where she thought she would be all those months ago when she had resolved to forget Colin Bridgerton and find a different husband after what she had overheard at her mama's ball.
Now though, she was Colin's wife, and the feeling of his fingers barely touching her skin gave her goosebumps. His words warmed her from the inside out, and for the first time, she did not try to deny the words. Her hazel eyes looked up at him through the mirror as he kissed her shoulder, a small smile quirking at her lips. "Well, you do not have to keep your hands to yourself now, my love."

colin made his way to his bedroom, knowing his wife would be there. he had forgotten to put something back in his office, that was in the drawing room, and he wanted to make sure it did not get misplaced. odd thing to think about after a ball, but colin's office was already a bit of a mess, he didn't want to think it had gotten lost. it was the newest edits for his journals, and he wanted to look over it. tomorrow though, as he placed the book on his desk, and smiled. he had other things on his mind.
as colin entered the bedroom he shared with penelope, he stood at the doorway, watching her in front of her mirror. she looked radiant, and it was all he could do, but just watch her. she wasn't undressing, or even trying to be sultry, but she was still. he slowly walked up behind her, his fingers slowly going up her arm, his heart leaping, even though he was just barely touching her skin ❝you are so beautiful. it takes my breath away, you are so beautiful, that i can hardly keep my hands to myself when we are out.❞ he always told her she was smart and beautiful, and that was why he loved her, but tonight, for some reason, he felt as if he only wanted to focus on her beauty. colin knew that she still didn't believe she was, or feel as if she was, and he wanted her to know it. to know it the way she knew to draw breath. not for him, but for her. ❝i love you so much❞ catching her eye in the mirror, leaning down to kiss her shoulder, never once breaking the eye contact they held in the mirror

Brienne realized that her hand was still on Jaime's cheek, and she flushed, moving it off of him. Gods, it was just so easy for her to fall back into their previous routine, no matter how much he had hurt her. "So, you will be safe in my tent, I swear it." She tried to push down the thoughts of them sharing a bed once again.
She considered that for a moment. "Well.. when we first met, I did want to smack you several times before we were captured, but I did have my oath to hold me back." She gave him a knowing look. "Pretty sure you were trying for that at the time after all. After that though.. no, I didn't want you hurt. Or in pain. When I saw you at Riverrun, the thought that I might have to fight you.. was unbearable and unthinkable."

Colin Bridgerton was nice. Nice. Such a silly little word. It should have been banal, but somehow it fit him to perfection.
Happy 233rd birthday, Colin!

Brienne gave him a pointed stare at what he pointed out. "Of course I mean you and your brother. Your sister terrified him." She shook her head before sighing. "Of course I wouldn't. As angry with you as I have been, I have never wanted you to be hurt."

She nodded again at his question. "I'm sure. I'd rather you be with me than be in danger. As for Pod... he won't go that far, I shouldn't think. He's always had a soft spot for you Lannisters. His anger will pass." Her squire that she hadn't even wanted at first was turning into a good man, albeit one that was foolishly protective of her. "I wouldn't let him anyway."

Brienne nodded at his words, inwardly debating with herself about what she should do. Yes, she was still angry at him for leaving the way that he had, but.. the fact that he was here, alive, with her.. was easing that anger slowly. And she knew she would never be able to live with herself if she didn't ask him. "Y-you could.. stay with me. Podrick will probably glare at you, but.. the offer is open."

She inhaled sharply as his hand covered hers. The feeling of his touch sent tingles down her arm, and her eyes softened more. Unable to help herself, she took a step closer, her eyes never leaving his face. "Do you- do you have somewhere to stay?" She was tempted to ask him to stay with her, but she wasn't sure if he would want to.

Brienne had been so focused on keeping eye contact, her lips quirking slightly when she felt him lean into her hand, that his question surprised her. "The summit is tomorrow," she explained quietly, afraid that if she spoke too loud, she would wake up from this dream. "I wasn't planning on heading in until then because I was worried it would be too painful, but your brother is there."

The disappointment on his face when she dropped her hand made her pause before stepping closer. Despite her doubts, she could still read him well, and it gave her hope in her heart for the first time since he had left. Slowly, tentatively, her hand came back up to rest on his cheek, as if to reassure herself that this was really happening. He was here, alive, and saying he missed her. Brienne was unable to speak, the only noise she made was a small whimper from the back of her throat.

She studied his face for a moment, gauging his sincerity before she eventually nodded. "I know you are." Her hand reached out for a moment, almost caressing his cheek, before she lost her nerve and dropped it again. She bit her bottom lip, before summoning all of her courage. "I missed you, Jaime."

Brienne nodded slowly, her face sad. "Having to explain that you had.. left for the capitol.. It eroded the respect I had earned from the Northerners. Lady Sansa was kind about it, but the whispers of the new nickname they gave me.." She swallowed hard. "I couldn't stay there any longer."

She winced at his description of what had happened to him. "Gods," she breathed out, trying to remain calm. She had so many questions, but the answers he had given her had at least calmed some of her anger. "Well, we both survived, and the war is now over. Your brother has called a summit to choose a new King. Lady Sansa asked me to escort her, and as much as I was reluctant to come.. I also needed to get out of Winterfell." The memories there had been to painful for her to stay behind.

I know asoiaf is not for everyone in the GoT fandom, and that's fine and good and totally cool. But to me there's something just so completely, deliciously, next-level compelling about what's left of Catelyn Stark, Brienne's beloved liege lady, demanding she choose to either kill Jaime Lannister or she and her companions be put to death. And Brienne was absolutely gonna let herself be hanged rather than harm a hair on that kingslaying asshole's big dumb golden head. They are each other's literal, actual ride or die and it fucks me straight the fuck up.

Gwen: Brienne is a very naturally shy person and she stands in front of that room and she puts herself on the line and it’s almost like a declaration of love.
Nik: It’s clearly a woman that he has enormous admiration for and just a human being that he admires. And we saw a scene earlier  where he asks if he can serve under her, because he knows she is amazing at what she does and she’s a great warrior and she has all the qualities and is the most deserving of the title of knight of anyone in that world. So I think it’s obviously an act of love.

Jaime and Brienne - gentle touch
She was strong, and gentler than he would have thought.
