you can look at the work they're doing here, actively distributing necessities despite trucks being completely blocked off from the Rafah crossing since Jan 23.

if you can I urge you to donate to them directly, or to this man and his team in Rafah, where 1.5 million people are now being kettled and starved. these alternative routes seem to be the only lifeline right now. Raw Paw even decided to keep the shirt going for sale to keep raising funds, so it's there too if you like. bless & free palestine.

been thinking a lot lately on what it takes to really sustain a movement. I think USAians expect protests, boycotts, and letters to be met with instant results, and when this doesn't happen, there's helplessness, burnout, and the movement is quietly dropped...

as we approach the year of the dragon, the hydra comes to mind.

over 30,000 innocent Palestinians are now gone, on our tax dollars, with no end in sight. now more people than ever realize that our representatives do not represent us, or care to. we are financing our own destruction, and we are running out of time.

so what does it really take to build a new world? who do we need? drawing on those who did it best (the global south truly has all the answers), these were my conclusions, but please tell me if you have any notes.

all I know is that our feelings of helplessness are by design. we cannot do it alone. it will not happen overnight. when one head tires, there must be two others to take it's place. happy early new year. we all have a role to play. which one are you?

I come from a long line of people who raised hogs, smoked them in the earth as technique inherited from indigenous kin (who - more broadly - introduced the west to the method: more on that here!) and seasoned them beautifully.

so pork specifically meant a lot to my family... but it is also undeniably tied to hereditary health problems...

so here's a story on how we departed from that, what tradition even is, and what it means to me now ft the humble black eyed pea, for EATER!

The #ConnectingGaza campaign supplies E-Sims to people on the ground in Gaza, allowing them to circumvent internet disruption/blackout during the siege and continue connecting with the wider internet. A digital SIM card (called an e-SIMs) works the same as a physical SIM Card, providing data and SMS for a phone number. E-Sims are one of few resources that can be directly accessed without blockage by people on the ground in Gaza.

PRINTS FOR PALESTINE - An Art Auction For Healthcare Workers In Gaza

The wonderful folks at Binch Press and Queer.Archive.Work in my state of Rhode Island just launched PRINTS FOR PALESTINE, an art auction raising funds for Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP).

The auction launched today (10/27/23) and runs through Nov 3rd 12PM EST (11/3/23), and features work from more than 90 artists donated in solidarity with the people of Palestine, including Ben Passmore, Eleanor Davis, Jazzmen Lee-Johnson, Kah Langni, and Emily Carroll.

finished this comic (based on that wolf meme that's based on the proverb that's often falsely attributed to a mythic Cherokee elder...) ages ago & forgot about it, but these last weeks changed that...

I guess the "joke" is that it's easy to feel powerless, to feel rage and then burn out, or to act like all is well in order to create a false peace, but none of these things will change the world. we must hold each other close, breathe, and act out of love & not anger, so that we are able to act at all. there was a beautiful statement I came across this week that I can no longer find, something like: "you should not stand up to evil acts because you would hope that if our roles were reversed, I would do the same for you. that is patronage, not solidarity. solidarity is standing up for me, as I would for you, because it is part of the work of us creating a world where evil acts cannot take place." every voice that denounces this absolute global shame, this g3nocid3 unfolding before our eyes, that speaks beyond the alienation, the censorship, and the threats so needed to maintain such atrocities, is a voice that can carry us into a better world. so speak up.

learn from direct sources. and BOYCOTT! because human decency is not the language warmongers speak, it is money.
