Hi~ so for this year’s Valentine’s Day, I’m thinking I could do some free love readings. I’m offering two types of readings:

1. 3 cards spread reading for singles to check out who is your next love, so who, when, how.

2. also a 3 cards reading but about someone on your mind, so we are checking what they think about you, their current feelings for you and intentions. If you choose number 2, it’d help to know your names or initials and a bit of the background, like are you asking about a crush or an ex, why, etc.

it’s time to face your shadow self. how’s she looking? it can feel freeing to give in to jealousy, anger, pride, but ultimately you’re just sabotaging yourself. don’t say i didn’t warn ya.

the pure chaotic energy of a teenage ts showing up at someone’s wedding and stealing their man is a mental image deserving of the tower. and to be honest, if the man was willing to be stolen, then the lovely bride-to-be is better off without him.

welcome to the second instalment of i’ve-thought-about-tarot-and-taylor-swift-way-too-much-in-lockdown. let us begin.

vi the lovers : our song our song is the way you laugh the first date, man, i didn't kiss her, and i should have

the charming symmetry of this simple love song is what makes it the perfect lovers song. it’s harmonious, balanced, it’s about togetherness but also about writing your own story.

vii the chariot : this is why we can’t have nice things there are no rules when you show up here / bass beat rattling the chandelier feeling so gatsby for that whole year

it’s all champagne and chandeliers until somebody pisses you off and crosses a line. then it’s game over for them, you have no time for that. this is the energy of the chariot, and honestly, good for you.

viii strength : girl at home call a cab, lose my number let's consider this lesson learned

ever been harassed at a party by a drunk guy who you know has a long-suffering girlfriend waiting at home? i have, and i (also drunk) punched him in the face. but the strong thing to do would have been to just tell him to get lost, like ts does in this song. lesson learned.

ix the hermit : evermore i was catching my breath / barefoot in the wildest winter / catching my death

evermore is the ultimate lockdown/social distancing anthem tbh. sometimes you need to live your cottagecore forest witch life for a bit and take a step back from life. what’s really important to you will crystallise in the calmness of catching your breath.

x wheel of fortune : the lucky one another name goes up in lights you wonder if you'll make it out alive

we’re here to ponder the ups and downs of life as well as the circular nature of time. fortunes change, but certain things are bound to repeat over and over again. the show must go on.

xi justice : dear john all the girls that you've run dry / have tired, lifeless eyes / 'cause you burned them out but i took your matches before fire could catch me / so don't look now

justice is swift here (sorry! sorry!) with taylor calling out an ex for his mistreatment of not only her, but the girls who came before her. it’s a little an-eye-for-an-eye in it’s revenge-mindedness, but in all fairness... you should have known.

so in this endless-feeling almost-year of varying degrees of social isolation i’ve listened to a lot of taylor swift and played around with my tarot cards a lot. this is the result: the major arcana of the tarot as taylor swift songs.

i genuinely don’t know if these will make any sense outside of my lockdown-softened brain, but they speak to me so… here’s an offering of hopefully fun content. let me know.

o the fool : welcome to new york it's a new soundtrack, i could dance to this beat the lights are so bright but they never blind me

you move to a new city convinced that it and everyone in it is going to love you. this is not the time to worry about practicalities. you take the leap of faith and believe in the magic of the neon lights.

i the magician: the new romantics we are too busy dancing / to get knocked off our feet baby, we're the new romantics / the best people in life are free

this is such an effortlessly good pop song that it’s kind of magic in itself. but it also encaptures the let’s-make-it-happen, yes-we-can attitude of the magician. you hang out with them, and anything is possible.

ii the high priestess : the lakes i want auroras and sad prose i want to watch wisteria grow right over my bare feet ‘cause i haven’t moved in years

imagine all the worst aspects of twitter: the cynical, algorithm-driven garbage fire screeching in your ear 24/7, and then imagine the exact opposite - that’s the high priestess. she’s above all that nonsense, and so is ts in this song.

iii the empress : you are in love morning, his place / burnt toast, sunday you keep his shirt / he keeps his word

there’s something so warm and loving about the empress, and this song feels like the audio version of empress energy. it’s cosy, it’s nurturing, it feels like spending a lazy sunday with your best friend in the world.

iv the emperor : the man i'd be a fearless leader / i'd be an alpha type when everyone believes ya / what's that like?

with this song, ts didn’t come to play, and neither does the emperor. he is the man, commanding respect and exuding confidence wherever he goes. he has no need to prove himself to anyone, everyone already believes him.

v the hierophant : marjorie i should've asked you questions i should've asked you how to be asked you to write it down for me

written about her grandmother, this song captures the wisdom we can learn from our elders, and the importance of having someone older and wiser to guide you in your life. that profound impact will live on and be passed on.
