I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.

Reblog this to keep other users aware. Suicide isn’t a joke, and neither is someone’s life. If you didn’t know this, someone else may not, either. Pass it on.

One time, I was talking to my friend about all of her various escapades as a child/teen and she said the phrase "strict parents make sneaky kids."

And in one of my proudest moments of using humor as a coping skill, I said "well abusive parents make the child equivalent of Navy seals."

And she said prove it.

When I was a kid, learning which boards on the floor/ which side of the stair creaked was a survival thing, and thus has been impressed upon my brain so heavily that I still find a use the quietest route in the house at twenty years old.

The house that we were in when my friend was over had stairs that were incredibly loud when you used them like a normal human. She bet me twenty bucks at four am that I couldnt go from my room upstairs, to the garbage can outside, and back to my room without waking my mom who's an incredibly light sleeper. So I did it, and when I got back fifteen minutes later she accused me of waiting in the bathroom, so I had her come to the top of the stairs and watch me silently navigate my way down the stairs. If you didn't know what I was doing, you would have thought I was insane, counting steps under my breath as I stepped on weird areas or just skipped a step entirely, but sure enough I got down silently.

And that's the story about how my childhood trauma won me twenty bucks.

We lived next to the mayor in the town I grew up in, and she legit printed 7,560 fliers about how ‘weeds’ make your lawn unpresentable and how “we want our town to be as beautiful as the coast it’s built upon.” and had them mailed to everyone in the town because my mom refused to use roundup on our yard when she told her to, because it’s not the mayors yard, and it was the Oregon coast so ofc dandelions are everywhere.
