At least once a week i am thinking about how if you dropped someone born and bred pnw in any other state they would die in like. 2 days. microculture of no hardship. ohhhh i wake up every day and see beautiful mountains or oceans or lakes i dont even see it anymore lol it's just background noise to me. i have never lived in a city that i s 300 square miles of concrete. i have never lived 3 months of triple digit summer. i dont know what a thunderstorm or tornado is. i only have one high way. speeding is bad i would never go 90 mph on a backroad. i think interchanges are scary. my salsa has maple syrup in it and no spices. i've never seen a bug in my life. GROW UP !

In Japanese, they don’t say “moon,” they say “tsuki,” which literally translates to “moon,” and I think that’s how language works.

I know it's not the worst thing about capitalism. But I do think there's something really *bad* about the fact that between lack of leisure time, lack of disposable income, and "hustle culture" mindset that for many, many, many people the primary/only way they are able to express their creativity and artistic aesthetics is through consumer culture. Buying stuff and displaying that stuff.
When like...making stuff. Drawing, painting, weaving, crafting, sketching is like, baked deep deep into our bones as humans.
But I know so many adults who haven't like...drawn a picture since they were children.

Typed "IKEA" into google maps and for some reason it decided to show me pretty much every single IKEA location in the nordic countries combined instead of just the one closest to me and ngl I'm kinda obsessed with this review in Sweden

I've been replaying Portal 2, and I've been thinking about it a lot, and I think my ideal Chell/GLaDOS relationship is this:
Months after escaping Aperture, Chell is living. Maybe she’s living alone in the ruins of civilization. Maybe she's found other humans in the post-apocalypse and has found a life in the little commune they've formed as they try to rebuild society. Either way it's a very simple life but it's hers and she tries to live it well.
And then one night an Aperture drone shows up outside of her house with a boombox and starts playing In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel.
Chell makes a face and closes the blinds. A thousand miles away GLaDOS pushes a button to firebomb Chell's house so that nobody will know she had a moment of weakness, but Chell's already grabbed her bugout bag and has jumped out the other window. This is the third time this has happened this month.
