I'm not interested in detailed arguments about why machine-generated "art" is okay anymore. We've already seen that people's art has been taken and used in order to cut the living, working artists out of the process of making art in their specific style without paying them, and none of the pro-Tech Bro Tracing Machine art arguments address the fact that this shit is specifically intended to cut actual artists (and actual actors, writers, etc.) out of the process while taking styles they created.

It isn't just about whether a machine has a "right" to "scan" - as if "looking" is all the computer is doing - it's about the fact that the billionaires behind this have literally said "we don't think we should have to pay for your art, it would cost us too much to do that." They absolutely intend to use this to not have to pay artists and actors and writers and and ... and to be able to use our work and our faces and our words in ways we would never have consented to.

Bitching about how copyright is fucked and heavily slanted in the favor of corporations and then being "pro-AI" is some of the most ridiculous mental contortionist shit I've ever heard. "Copyright as it exists is slanted in favor of corporations, so let's make the art world even MORE unbalanced in favor of the few billionaires behind this bullshit!"

This shit is the Uber and AirBnB of the art world - same tactic, same intentions - and any "actual artist" supporting it is, as far as I give a fuck, a fucking quisling. :)

The only thing that might actually save actual living and working artists in this mess is the fact that computer-vomited "art" and "writing" can't be copyrighted.

Low Energy/Effort Witchcraft

Are you perpetually busy? Never have any spoons? This might be the post for you. Note that not everything here may be considered low energy or low effort to everyone, and that's okay :)

Carry a crystal around based on what you need. I have a black tourmaline bracelet that absorbs negative vibes throughout the day. I stick it on a selenite slab when I get home to cleanse overnight, then rinse and repeat in the morning.

Put a bay leaf in your wallet to attract money. If you have time, draw a sigil or a $/£/€ on it.

Dedicate anything you drink to your deities if you have any. I dedicate water and black tea to everyone and my favourite raspberry tea to Hathor. Coffee is for Caim.

Enchant your pill case so you remember to take them on time. Enchant your pills to work efficiently. ("Anxiety begone. Ye be banished" on all of my anxiety pills ✌️)

Draw a sigil on your body wash bottle to remove bad vibes or carve a sigil in a bar of soap.

Enchant your moisturizer to repel the evil eye. I fucking love this one.

Incorporate colour magic into the socks you wear (Goths who wear hot pink socks, I'm looking at you).

Enchant your charger so it doesn't break and so you don't lose it. Enchant your phone too while you're at it.

New anti-AI tool from the team developing Glaze that looks to poison prompts and ruin data sets entirely.

The tool can go so far as to trick AI into generating things it didn't ask for. 50 "poisoned" images of dogs into a data set yield typical errors companies have been working to get rid of: weird proportions, extra limbs, etc. When they added 300 samples, it was drastic enough to make a data set that was trained to generate "dogs" into "cats" making the tool basically useless.

It's not out yet, but they're adding it to Glaze and they intend on making it open source.

after increased intensity of israeli aistrikes tonight, the last cable providing communications was destroyed. telecommunications have been completely cut off. they cannot reach one another. they cannot reach paramedics. the red crescent society has completely lost contact with their branch in gaza. nobody inside can reach anyone inside, and especially not outside of gaza to tell us what is going on. this is a complete atrocity.
