Since I’ve decided to make a tiny R2D2 for my robotics class I spent the morning finding .wav files of the different sounds he makes but the original file names I knew would get confusing

so here I am sitting here psychoanalyzing and personifying as many of them as I can because okay yeah he’s beeping and chirping but what was he feeling

percy: *slowly moves crossword puzzle towards baby*

annabeth: percy! our 2 week old is not going to be able to do a crossword!

percy: hey you never know! he has your hair. we could have a little genius!

annabeth: seaweed brain he doesn’t even realize he has hands yet!

*a few minutes later*

annabeth: *looks around to make sure percy isn’t in the room*

annabeth whispering: okay sweetie, you see this cup of water? show mommy if you can make something happen!

did anyone else ever find it odd how easily zeus offered percy godhood? and how it almost seemed like he secretly wanted percy to accept? well i did, and after thinking long and hard about it…

i don’t think percy understood what turning down godhood really meant

demigods do tasks for the gods because they don’t have to follow any rules. they aren’t controlled by anyone or anything. demigods are a strange hybrid - not god, not human. they are in between the laws of immortal and mortal. they are not supposed to exist. yet they do, which is what makes them so extraordinary.

percy is crazy powerful. of course, there’s the aspect of raw power. he has domain over air (storms/hurricanes), land (earthquakes and volcanic eruptions), and sea (monster waves, tsunamis, floods, basically anything that involves water.) he can control bodily fluids. he has super strength (with one hand, he held up an unconscious annabeth who was being pulled down by both arachne AND the forces of tartarus). he has super speed (he moves faster than bullets in TTC). no matter how badly you hurt him, he automatically heals and regenerates the second he touches water (an ability no other demigod has). he’s an extraordinary swordsman. very skilled in combat and warfare. he’s smart, and thinks of plans quickly. but he also has a great deal of social/poltcial power… i mean, he’s a leader and hero to both the greek and roman camps. if he says “attack,” all demigods, greek or roman, attack. no question. do you have any idea how threatening that is to the olympians? he’s also best friends and has an empathy link with the lord of the wild, which basically means all of nature is by his side too, including all land creatures. he’s also prince of horses, which means pegasi too (both of which are extremely useful in battle). and of course all sea creatures, including the mythical ones like krakens and leviathans. not to mention many of the gods really like him. hermes, hephaestus, athena, aphrodite, and dionysis have all gone out of their way to help him. artemis holds him in high regard, especially since he saved her. apollo literally considers him his friend! and poseidon - his dad, the god who is the biggest threat to zeus - is fiercely protective of him and cares about him a great deal. many minor gods also like him because he demanded them to be given more respect and for their kids to be welcomed at the camps.

percy unknowingly has more power, both physical and social/political, than anyone should ever have. he may have absolutely no idea, but it must scare the living daylights out of zeus. by accepting zeus’s offer to become a god, percy would have submitted himself to the control of zeus. zeus would be his king and ruler. zeus would then have complete control over him.

but percy said no. therefore, percy remains out of zeus’s control.

percy had no idea what he was doing. but thank the gods he made that choice. thank the gods he’s an incredible person. thank the gods percy jackson has no desire for power, because he has more of it than anyone should ever be able to have.

you know when people start speaking another language around you? when they purposefully don’t want you to understand? like maybe your mom and grandma are obviously not wanting you to understand what’s going on?

i love the thought of when percy and annabeth are discussing something very serious or dangerous or frightening - anything that their mortal families shouldn’t hear - the two of them just start speaking in ancient greek. which would be… so weird. like these two dyslexic teens/young adults are just casually speaking an ancient language. and it’s not a causal sounding language like spanish, either. remember poseidon and zeus speaking it in the pjo series finale? it’s like… intense. it just SOUNDS historical. it’s very foreign and ancient sounding. it would feel kinda surreal to actually hear, especially coming from them.

like obviously their parents and siblings know they’re hardwired to speak ancient greek, but knowing they can do it and actually hearing/seeing them communicate that way are completely different things. and it would really hit them that these two are part of a completely other world. i mean…they’re not even human. they’re half greek god. they just casually speak the language of greek gods.

sorry i know this is all common knowledge. i’m just having a “woah.” moment.

have you ever thought about how out of all the men in PJO and HOO, percy is the least like annabeth? they complement each other so beautifully, like 2 puzzle pieces that are a perfect fit, but they’re SO different. like imagine…

piper: annabeth is dating one of these 4 men

hazel: *gestures to percy, jason, frank, and leo*

piper: guess which one

random person: hmm… i’d say frank. he’s the son of the god of war and she’s the daughter of the goddess of battle strategy. they’re both incredible fighters and stategists. i bet they are amazing together

percy: 😐

hazel: *nervously laughs*

piper: um, nope! try again!

random person: oh? really? ok well then defintily jason. son of zeus? well mannered, always in control of the situation, very humble and honorable. as a daughter of athena, he’s totally her type. they are both very calm and level-headed. they both are leaders and know how to weigh the options and outcomes quickly in a tough situation. plus, they are both blonde with light eyes, so they would have beautiful babies!

percy: 😒

piper: *nervously laughs*

hazel: um… still no! one more try!

random person: oh wait… i’m so stupid! it’s obvious!

hazel: there you go! i also think it’s obv-

random person: it’s leo! why didn’t i see it? he’s a mechanic. she’s an architect. they are perfect together! she’s a creator and he’s a fixer. their brains work so much like each other. they’re basically meant to be! oh and they are both from the south!! and i bet-

piper: IT’S PERCY! she is dating percy. perseus jackson. you know, the one on the left? tall, tan, lean, black hair, green eyes? him and only ever him.

random person: oh

percy: 🤨

random person: the… the son of poseidon?? the hot sarcastic bad boy? with that troublemaker look about him? the one with severe mood swings, and who gets expelled from every single school he goes to?

percy: *awkwardly looks down at his hands*

random person: HE’S annabeth chase’s boyfriend??

annabeth: damn right he is 🥰

im so obsessed with gorgug thistlespring and im so normal about him. he's the kindest boy in school but he has anger issues. he bought his parents old van to go on a roadtrip with his friends. he has a white streak in his hair. he was bullied in middle school. his parents have had the sex talk with him several times. he's adopted. he's japanese. he's bisexual, but only during pride month. he wakes up extra early every day to walk with his girlfriend to school. he went to hell when he was 14. he puts on his headphones everytime they fight. he kissed a boy at prom. he has impostor's syndrome but won't tell anyone about it. he plays the drums. he doesn't know the combination to his own locker. he has thong merch. stuck in the nightmare forest with no way of knowing if he'd ever see his friends again he dropped a recording hoping somebody would hear it and follow him.
