I am very much (still) in love with the beautiful robot husband!
God I wish that was me.
First art I’ve done in absolutely ages cause I’m a lazy bugger. Thought it’s about time I do some papercut stuff again!

Another poster I illustrated for Grimm and Co. earlier in the month. Very fun to work on as I was given a lot of creative freedom on!

So a while ago I bought some dusty old 60s children's guitar... finally got around to making it a little more presentable and playable. Its also a Ukulele now. Also did some Illustration to sketch out a design for it.
Another fun adventure in luthiery!

A smug froggy feels validated for his attachment to a simple yellow rain mac.
Perhaps based on true events...

Some more illustration done for Grimm & Co. in Rotherham. Thought I’d include the two end versions and the sketches that led to them.
One version for the Eventbrite page of the event and one for the Grimm and Co website.

With students returning to university, work has been busy. But I’ve still found time, and demand, for illustration!
This one was done to advertise a story editing/writing event last month! for Grimm and Co in Rotherham

Been a long time since my last post but quite a lot has happened! And amongst all the excitement of getting a job at the university I studied at, I've built myself a nice little lap steel guitar Overall I'm happy with how it's turned out, lots went wrong but lots was learnt! Thoroughly enjoyed exploring luthiery alongside my career as an illustrator. This project weaved itself in-between commissions, instrument repairs, temp work and my new job.

Been thinking about the next build and it's looking likely to be a lapsteel! So here are a few doodles, accidentally drew the electronics on the wrong side but oh well.

Another more challenging restoration now somewhat complete! This lovely English made banjo was too good to possibly sell on. So I'm absolutely keeping it.

Sadly the celluloid tuner button is proving impossible to replace with anything remotely similar so it's being left for the time being. Don't want to remove the original tuners and replace all 5 with something uniform.

Some doodles from when I was building my mountain dulcimer. I'll no doubt be looking back to these for the second inevitable build!

My first proper instrument restoration! This lovely #banjolele was looking quite a bit worse for wear when I got it. I'm really happy with how it turned out!
To my knowledge its british made by the George Houghton company of Birmingham sometime before 1962.

Very proud to announce that a second book I've illustrated has been published! A very fun book to work on with a very passionate author!
The book is about the authors journey from atheist to Socialist Christian. With glimpses of how folk music and politics made him a loving left-wing Christian.
