i have very sad news that you may have figured out by now already because i haven’t posted a new drawing in like a year or more: my digital pen BROKE (girl straight up exploded in a plume of smoke and fire and it smelled awful... beware of rechargeable batteries) AKDFHAKHFKSJH help ... and they don’t make them anymore so like... uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh idk what to do about that. the company started selling a New Pen as a replacement but i’m .. kind of hesitant to try it out. it’s not expensive, it’s just that spending money on something that may not work is kind of a risk for me

to everyone who has been waiting on a drawing from me since then,,, my sincerest apologies- unfortunately i cannot do anything to remedy that. at least not for the time being.

ooo,,, the last tsw was so much fun, i had a lot of fun drawing and animating some lovely trans snape(s). i can’t guarantee i’ll join again this year because of my current life situations but i’m so happy i got to experience the last one!!! and i wanted to thank you for making and promoting tsw, because as someone who has been questioning for a long time, it’s been so fun to find a safe space where i can express myself through art!! so,,, thank you very much!! 

Argh, I just... really disappointed in what happened to the trans Snape side of the Snapedom. It seems like ever since JKR’s last transphobic rampage, the Snapedom has become 95% cishet Snape content. Pretty much everything new I see created is Snily, Snamione, or Snape x female OC.

I get why lots of trans folx left the fandom, I truly do, and I’m glad they are protecting themselves from the pain inherent in remaining. (It’s painful for every trans person, whether we choose to stay or leave.) However, I do wonder what happened to the “we’re gonna steal Harry’s Potter back from JKR” crowd. What happened to all the folx who made excellent meta a few years ago analyzing Snape’s queer/femme/trans coding? All those headcanons we had?

Sometimes I fear that cis folx got so uncomfortable fighting JKR’s transphobia that they just... left. Or went back to creating solely cishet content. I wonder if folx feel like they risk getting “canceled” if they create even slightly imperfect trans or queer Snape content, that it’s safer for them to rely on “own voices” stories alone. I don’t mean to sound bitter, but damned if I don’t feel a bit abandoned.

I was planning on running a trans Snape week in November, but I can’t help but wonder if anyone will even participate? And I know, I know, what have you ever done for the fandom, snapescapades? Not nearly enough, I know. I’ve consumed far more than I’ve ever created.

I don’t mean to say this is anyone’s fault. Nor do I want there to be less cishet Snape content. I love that too. I just want the queer and trans Snape content back, y’know?

Perhaps the fandom is simply dying naturally. But god, if that’s the case, I’m so glad I have such good memories of helping run the 2015 and 2016 trans Snape weeks over on snapeloveposts. I miss that vibrant community so much. It was such a blessing and a joy to help lead that world as a baby trans teenager. That community helped me become who I am.

heyy i just wanted to check in and say that i’m okay. my mom is acting very strange but i don’t think she’ll kick me out just yet- i think her switching back and forth is just another way she tries to control me. in that case, at least i still have a roof over my head. 

i apologize for my absence,,,, it’s been so hard lately. if you have messaged me and feel neglected by me, i’m so sorry- i’m not trying to ignore anyone. i don’t draw much unless inspiration strikes, and lately i’ve been too stressed for that anyways with my rocky home life. But if you would like to see more recent drawings that aren’t necessarily a part of this fandom, i could drop my general art account. my new hyperfixation gives me a lot of joy in short bursts, so that’s what i’ve been drawing “lately” (and by “lately” i mean like... a month ago...). i would like to have some money saved in case things fly south again, so i might reopen commissions in the not-so-distant horizon, but i can’t say i will open them right now. for now, i just wanted to let all of you know that i’m alive in case you wished for an update.

Model Liu Hao as chinese Snape.

I was looking at very expensive Gucci lipsticks but eventually lost myself desperately searching for a model because I’ve been struck by how much he reminded me of Severus (nothing new about it…). I’ve discovered how spot on is asian Snape thanks to this artwork by @suffer-my-displeasure​ and also lately I’ve come across different asian models, photographers and magazines and I’m obsessed with their beauty and work… so I think I’m in some kind of spiral right now. 🤷
