i have feelings (not positive) about the sudden proliferation of posts saying abigail not being eaten showed how she was unloved even in death cause...that's just her father's philosophy? abigail doesn't seem to believe in it. hannibal certainly doesn't believe in it. like i'd argue that the opposite is true, that hannibal not eating people shows he cares for them beyond seeing them as pigs. hannibal not eating will was proof of his love for him in the end.

#how i interpret hannibal eating mischa was that it was less an act of love and more an act of forgiveness #mischa's death caused him uncontrollable grief and in the end he had to reduce her to meat to 'forgive' her for causing those feelings #like yeah i have issues with abigail's death bc she died for will's sins not her own #and the writers didn't even have hannibal think about her or grieve her while he was traipsing around in italy #or have ANYONE think about her beyond will #but i don't think him not eating him showed he didn't care #no hate if that's how you see it these are just my half formed thoughts #long post #hannibal rewatch #(yeah i changed the screenshots bc i found ones that fit better) #not eating her*
