I also wanted to ask, considering I found out about Love and Legends (and Lovestruck by extension) like, a week ago: what was the original app like? How many routes were there? Which one's your favorite, and why is it Helena? (/j)

Sorry if these are weird questions, I'm just really interested and curious about this project!

First of all, welcome to Lovestruck! I'm glad that more people are finding and experiencing Lovesruck despite the game being dead for almost 2 years at this point.

Anyway, Lovestruck was probably the most unique visual novel app I have ever played not only because of the app's unique artstyle and charm but also the huge amount of LGBTQ+ representation the app has included during it's run. The stories are played out differently compared to other VN apps as well where the story is completely different depending on the route you choose.

Now I'm not 100% sure how many routes Lovestruck included but I think it's over 70+ routes across 19 different series and you can choose to romance male, female and non-binary characters.

As for my favorite routes, obviously one of them is Helena because the writing for her route is incredible, but some of my other favourite routes in no particular order includes Juliette from Villainous Nights, Xenia from Reigning Passions, Emeril from Sweet Enchantments, Medusa from Astoria Fate's Kiss, Vivienne from Queen of Thieves and Vanessa from Havenfall. There is a few other routes that I enjoy other than the ones that I mentioned, but I'm going to be here forever listing all of them!

If you want to check out some of these routes for yourself, then I strongly recommend checking out the LS Salvation Squad YouTube Channel as they have recordings of every route from the Lovestruck app. Watching a recording of someone playing the game is not the same as actually playing the game for yourself but it's the closest thing we have right now to actually experiencing the app.

Kristen truly is so strong for not completely losing it on her parents when they told her “maybe helio wouldn't have let that happen". The absolute RAGE that flooded me at them saying that. Kristen, Helios chosen, who died on the first day of school and he didn’t help her. Kristen, who was almost sacrificed by Helio cultists who wanted to kill her in his name. Kristen telling Mac and Donna about the hellmouth and them REFUSING to listen to her, Kristen TRYING TO TALK TO THEM and MAC KICKING HER OUT OF THEIR HOUSE. Saying it seemed like she had a new family and then she should stay with them. Oh. My god. I will never ever shut up about the hellmouth plot Mac and Donna Applebees every second you are not running I am getting CLOSER

Addiny my whole two cents to whether Orym is wrong to keep bringing up his murdered loved ones, and my view is no he isn't. Like it doesn't fucking matter if the Vanguard has a point about the gods, that's never been the issue here. The issue is that they have enacted murder throughout Exandria, are supporting an oppressive regime on Ruidis, and have no regard whether releasing an entity that even the gods are afraid of will destroy Exandria. They are not the good guys. Your argument doesn't matter if your actions are so deeply awful. And a man who has been directly affected by this has every right to remind his friends of the actual consequences of this group's actions.

Yes many of the Vanguard have been hurt by religion, and you can empathise with that. You know who else has been hurt? Fucking Orym. Why is the Vanguard allowed to discuss their pain when justifying their arguments but Orym isn't? The reality is you can't have a nuanced conversation when you're arguing that the death cult might be right, because at that point you're basically excusing the countless deaths that have happened in front of a person who is a victim of the death cult. And that is just gross. Orym is a stronger person than me for all the times he's had to listen to it.

the thing with Buddy dying, is he isnt' an adventurer, he's a devout worshipper of Helio and a powerful cleric despite his belief/using it as an excuse, that clerics don't cast spells. He is capable of casting level 7 spells, but that doesn't mean he's a high level character. Brennan has made characters that are powerful, but have low hp.

Angwyn abernant comes to mind. He was powerful enough to down aelwyn with one hit, but Adaine was able to kill him in one strike. She dealt him 77 points of damage to kill him which means he has less than 34 hp. Brennan said he was never a practical caster so it explains his lack of health.

Buddy kind of sounds like a similar, his grandfather might have graduated aguefort, but it's his first year. He wasn't an adventurer and he never had to be this year since he was part of the ratgrinders, why would he need to worry about being killed by rats in the level 1 forest? maybe he was chosen by the ratgrinders for this specifically, strong cleric to revive them if necessary, but easy prey if any of them had to kill him if necessary for the plan or for the evil lulz

now i've watched a fair amount of d&d i've started to pick up on the differences between dm style i think

like brennan IS all the bad guys. every game he dms is brennan vs the players. he makes npcs and battles that make his friends throw things at him and he smirks the whole time. he makes them tell him their worst fears and then he makes them do it. and it's awful and amazing and really funny

matt IS exandria. his characters and battles never feel written or constructed, they just feel like things that already existed in the world. it's all about verisimilitude with him, and he's amazing at it. he tends to fade into the background and let the players react to the story and it makes everything he does incredibly cinematic

aabria dms like she's just another player at the table reacting to the story, right up until someone gets lulled into a false sense of security and tries to fool around and THEN she throws a curveball by making them deal with the consequences of their choices. she's like oh you think that's funny?? then i'm about to be hilarious, bitch. and she keeps getting away with it bc she's just that good!

basically, brennan's an evil bastard, matt's the world, and aabria's the queen of consequences

something that has bothered me for years in the Percy Jackson fandom is how often 'fans' have to tear down Percy to make other characters look better. This happens a lot with the seven (mostly Leo and Jason, though I've seen Piperbeth shippers bashing Percy for Piper), I think readers view Percy and to a lesser extent Annabeth as spotlight hogs as they had a whole nother 5 book series as main characters. But it gets the worst with Nico, who is the fandom's favorite character (or at least was when heroes of olympus and the original pjo were coming out and I can assume he still is)

I like Nico, he has cool powers, he's a little shit, goth kid, and he's the series first gay character. I get why he's the fandom's baby boy. But you don't have to tear down Percy to like him. To this day I still see arguments about how Percy sucks because he did x to Nico, without anything else in canon for why Percy acted the way he did. Percy and Nico have a long and complicated relationship, neither is the bad guy. It sucks being a fan of both characters when there are people in the fandom who need to tear down Percy to put Nico on a pedestal. And yes, it has died down a bit since I was in the fandom years ago, but it's still there, and I'm worried with the live action show not being a bomb, it's gonna start right back up again if they get a third season.

I just needed to get this off my chest because I love both characters, Percy is probably my second favorite and Nico is def in the top 5. I just sucks when you see posts bashing one of your favorites to boost up one of your other favorites.
