They got me so captivated, I just had to draw them. Hannibal was the show about love and hidden Needs and Wants that I didn’t even knew I needed, but oh boy, I did.

The contrast between the gruesome violence and the soft, emotional dialogues and the artsy and philosophical vibes are merging into a queer love/awakening show that felt like a fever dream. Hannibal and Will share so much chemistry that I’m still baffled over the fact that there are actually people out there who saw the show and didn’t see the romance/homoerotic themes? After certain parts of love confessions and mentioned courtings I sat there dumbstruck about how much it moved me and weirded me out at the same time, because of the clashing themes. The murder husbands killed their way into my heart 🤧🥺

It’s so sad but kinda funny to me that, in the german Dub of Hannibal, Freddy referred to Will and Hannibal not as „Murder Husbands“, but as „murderous Brothers“ instead.

Like. We can have a whole show about Murder and Cannibalism and gruesome corpses all the way.. But we can’t have the gay. That’s too much.

So I’m at s03 ep04 of Hannibal now. I‘ve never in my whole life watched something that is such an emotional rollercoaster in a very good way. I mean, half the time I feel uneasy, sick to my stomach or jumpy and on edge, but the emotional scenes, the longing gazes, the pining and beautiful pictures are just so good. The season finale of season 2 had me in tears and shambles and I think I maybe cried for the „wrong“ reasons? Hannibal is such a crooked, broken and locked up character but he seems to be so emotional and tender that I cried like a baby over his „goodbye“ to Will and Abigail in the end of season 2. I think the psychology behind most of the people in this show is surely far from accurate and way to flashy or romanticised; but for what it is; it’s portrayed so good and emotional that I think the viewer would have a hard time not feeling at least some empathy for Hannibal and his love for Will. Speaking of Will; I just love him. I think he is such a rough character with the most amazing corruption arc I have seen so far. The way he struggles to „give in“ to his feelings and longings is almost painful to watch, half the time I wanted to scream at the screen like „dude just go to him and figure things out with him already!“ I think it’s clear from the very first season on that each and every character that connects with both Hannibal and/or Will is just a mere tool to form or strengthen their bond and that no other person connects so deeply with them like they do with each other. Of course it’s also very clear that Hannibal manipulated Will a long time and drove people away from Will to be „the only one left“; but at some point I think that dynamic became even more organic. At the point where I watched by now I don’t think will wants Hannibal to have „someone else“ either. I’m already spoiled about what happens at the very end and I’m so eager to know how they will get there.

So today I decided to watch Hannibal. I watched the first 10 episodes in one go and now I feel so beautifully morally corrupted. And I totally get why Hannibal/Will is such a big ship (at least that’s what I saw of the fandom so far!)

I‘m pretty squirmy with horror/gore stuff so I had to close my eyes on a bunch of the brutal parts, but the characters and storyline wraps it up for me.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson, strolling trough the streets of London.

I can’t tell you how much I love Sherlock Holmes and how much of a soft spot I have for the cases and all the books. The first time I got into the sherlockian world at the tender age of 14 I never looked back. The books shook me and the relationship between Holmes and Watson set standards for me. Yes I really do see homoerotic/non-platonic subtext in the books (as many others do as well luckily) and maybe this is partly because I, as a queer teen back then, craved for these kind of lovestorys. I could go on for hours explaining why Holmes/Watson is not only a mere ship for me but also the first portrayal of deep and saturated love between two people who are not stuffed into the tight boxes of heteronormativity. I needed this back then and reading it now gives me all kinds of butterflies and soothes me somehow. I will attach one of my favourite SH-quotes onto this:

“In an instant he had whisked out a revolver from his breast and had fired two shots. I felt a sudden hot sear as if a red-hot iron had been pressed to my thigh. There was a crash as Holmes’s pistol came down on the man’s head. I had a vision of

After the fandom seems to wholeheartedly agree over the headcanon that poor Ivan (employee of the month lol) was sent out to get that blue irises on the evening of winter fete i decided to draw him and his hubby sharing a quiet moment after fetching the flowers. Maybe Ivan decided to be a little nice to Fedyor and silently got him a little Flower too.

Oh, the Grishaverse. Another fandom I adore, especially Six of Crows/Crooked Kingdom. Kaz and his Crows are such good and interesting characters, I love them so much and I am glad they good included in the new Netflix series that they put out last week.

The Series blew me away and hooked me up on the fandom again big time; I have seldom seen a series that not only translated a book so good, but also altered parts so smoothly as ist were actual canon and amplified certain parts of the story/characters SO good that they got a much better presentation in the show. I did not really care for Alina and Mal in the books (I read the trilogy first back in Spring 2020 ) but in the series?? In the Books mal seemed to be a stuck up douchebag and I disliked him - and in the series I rooted for him big time. Also Jesper, who I liked in the Duology, but who rarely caught my attention, was portrayed so good and funny that I am now fully invested in him. I love the series and the books much and yeah..
