People who play Curse of Strahd need to watch this. I find there is a lot of moralizing in the fandom that probably comes from Tracy Hickman's writeup in the beginning of the book who frames COS as a moral story and generalizes a lot about the history of vampires. Btw, like Meyer, Hickman is also a Mormon. Why are they always writing about vampires?
Sometimes I see posts about how "I, Strahd" Tatyana has the personality of a cardboard but I don't think I agree honestly.
We only see her in very few scenes (all from Strahd's POV) and she's always very gentle and soft spoken.
Which makes completely sense since she was a lowborn orphan trying to make a good impression on her future brother in law, who is not only the ruler of the valley but also a feared war criminal. Of course she would try to be as nice as possible in front of him.
I also think that Strahd was extremely genuine in thinking he was in love with Tatyana, it's just that he never really knew her the way Sergei did. He only knew a facet.
Hey all! Cutting in on zine-posting news, I wanted to share an interest check for another project I would like to try out! I know our little fanbase loves those animatics we see people upload on youtube, and I wanted to organize one! I always have so many ideas for animatics, but I hardly have the energy to create one myself. I used to LOVE doing MAP(multi animator projects) back when I was a kid, and have always wanted to do them again someday....
This form has a bunch of song suggestions I've come up with, but also a section for you to suggest your own. I'm not sure how long I'll run this form--just until I get enough responses to be happy I think.
You do not need experience creating an animatic to participate once I get the ball rolling! Ideally, I would love to run multiple of these as to give everyone a chance to participate. (that being said feel free to steal this idea!)
I've also created a playlist with song ideas, incase you want to listen to any!
They are already selling data to midjourney, and it's very likely your work is already being used to train their models because you have to OPT OUT of this, not opt in. Very scummy of them to roll this out unannounced.
- She's the Count wife. She has power over Vesuvia as Countess. At the end of her route Lucio himself says that Nadia WAS ruling at his side and even creating new rules and taking decisions by her own. So she wasn't powerless. I suggest you replay the chapters in the Hierophant domain.
- She COULD have divorced Lucio any time because she was never his prisoner and he was killing civilians anyway as a daily routine. So again, other excuses.
- The magical coma was a consequence to her escaping reality by coming to the arcana realms over and over again through the years. Literally abandoning her people to take depression naps. She's 100% responsible for her own coma which is literally a metaphore for her inaction.
- Nadia's family starting a war against Vesuvia would have created other issues but it might have liberated it from it's tyrant, which is an obvious improvement. So at best we could discuss of how the whole Satrinava family is also guilty of being complicit in Lucio's dictatorship by being silent about it, now that I think about it.
-Nadia only gets rid of Vlastomil once he turns human AND only at the end of her route when the courtiers have already revealed themselves as demons. Volta stays even if just in another position and Valdemar and Vulgora go away on their own. So she literally gets zero merit for this. She pretty much doesn't do shit in that regard.
Her apathy and inaction towards what Lucio was doing is exactly what makes her guilty.
She's not a little baby with no agency, she's a 40 yr old woman that had just as much power as her husband. If not more, since she is the princess of the most powerful and rich monarchy of the area.
If Lucio was so unreasonable she could have asked for a divorce and gone back home. She could have asked her family, said very powerful monarchy, for help.
But she didn't, because asking them for help would have made her feel inadequate and inferior to her sisters. Instead she stayed silent and took naps.
She could have fired the Courtiers one by one and kick them out of the castle once she woke up from her coma. But she doesn't. She just complains about them without ever doing anything as if she has no power even after Lucio's death.
