Sometimes it's useful to look at your dialogue and ask yourself, "would a real human being talk like that?" But it's also good to ask the follow-up questions of "would the way a real human being talks sound good here" and "does this character actually talk like a real human being or are they weird about it."

Today in obscure Doctor Who jokes:
Somebody on Twitter pointed out that the Big Finish companion Hex is canonically from the year 2021, so when he occasionally abbreviates the word "suspicious" to "sus," it's probably an Among Us reference.
The punchline is that this character was actually introduced back in 2004. It was made-up future slang that they happened to get right.

I want to write a book called “your character dies in the woods” that details all the pitfalls and dangers of being out on the road & in the wild for people without outdoors/wilderness experience bc I cannot keep reading narratives brush over life threatening conditions like nothing is happening.
I just read a book by one of my favorite authors whose plots are essentially airtight, but the MC was walking on a country road on a cold winter night and she was knocked down and fell into a drainage ditch covered in ice, broke through and got covered in icy mud and water.
Then she had a “miserable” 3 more miles to walk to the inn.
Babes she would not MAKE it to that inn.

i really love when time lords use their regeneration energy as a power source i wonder what it’s like just existing knowing your body is capable of producing that much energy (or forcefully expending it, anyway). it’s obviously just a fact of life for them but god once you feel that happen for the first time how do you go on? feeling the potential for it just smouldering away under the surface all the time. time lords are always so aware of what’s happening in their bodies at the cellular level. imagine that first rush of neurotransmitters flooding your synapses after you get fatally injured, all those little channels opening and closing letting everything flood in and out, action potentials building and firing a million times a second as every neuron and cell prepares to tear itself apart. and you know it’s going to hurt because your body has more important things to worry about right now than dulling the pain. you feel like a machine burning itself for fuel with the energy building and building until it rips out of you. idk how you can get over that or forget it. i would be thinking about it every minute of my life

Under D&D rules, a dagger does 1d4 base damage. The average human has a Strength score of 10, adding no bonuses. Several of them, due to the military background of many, likely had strength or dexterity scores of 11-14. But only two or three, and quite a few would be frail with old age, sinking to 8-9 strength. All in all, we can only add a total of +1 damage per round from Brutus.
An estimate of sixty men were involved in Caesar’s actual murder. Not the wider conspiracy, but the stabbing.
Julius Caesar was a general, which is generally depicted as a 10th level fighter. Considering his above baseline constitution and dex, weakened by his probable history of malaria, epilepsy, and/or strokes (-1 dex modifier), and lack of armor at the time of the event, he would likely have something along the lines of AC 9 and 60 HP. The senators would likely hit him roughly 55% the time.
So the Roman senate had a damage-per-round of 66, more than enough to kill Caesar in one round even without factoring in surprise round advantage.

Only third-dimensional scars vanish with regeneration. The Doctor has horrible anti-time scars where his fourth dimension was severed and re-attached, and his time-senses have never quite been the same. Even in the worst parts of the Time War, temporal damage that bad is rare and horrifying, and there are a hundred rumors about what sort of Dalek torture the Doctor of War must have endured. Later, there's nobody to see how disfigured his time-aura is until River wonders if it's supposed to look like that and Missy asks what really happened since she knows the scars predate the war.
