My latest canon-compliant fic, "Alone," is up now on AO3!
"Yang's struggles over adjusting to her missing arm lead to much harder struggles over being left alone."
Give it a look and feel free to let me know what you think!

The thing that really gets to me about the bees being planned from the beginning isn't even that we were right in spite of the haters.
It's the fact that all the little things we noticed in the years have always been legit.
The concept arts with the colors in common (you know the ones)
Yang and Adam's semblances being the same yet drastically different, and them in general made to be foils.
All the Beauty and the Beast references.
"Black the Beast descends from shadows, yellow Beauty burns gold"
"I'll destroy everything you love... Starting with her" being actually about romantic love.
The whole jealous ex trope.
"WHAT DOES SHE EVEN SEE IN YOU"
All the times Blake talked about her team during volume's 4-5 and her tone always being different when it was Yang.
All the pining of those volume and Yang's heartbreak.
Their eyes being the colors of each other's souls.
The comics actually meaning the implication that they're the reincarnation of the Faunus Princess and her Human Lover.
All the comics in general showing so many interactions and how close they were since Beacon!
We weren't reading too much into it, it wasn't wishful thinking; it has always been real.

Those of you who check the final chapter of Stay may find it slightly different than they remember.
I wonder what that's all about...?
Perhaps the author wanted to make some minor revisions to better realize her creative vision?
Perhaps... she might also be preparing for something?

I really hate when people that argue Yang can't be a lesbian because she showed interest in boys in vol 1. For a lot of reasons, a lot of reasons that I don't have time to list right now. The biggest being, that it's a misleading argument. Sure it is technically true, that Yang 'showed interest' in boys in ep 3 of vol 1, but you know what else was referenced in the same Episode? Ruby having friends at signal.
You know what else Ruby's friends and Yang showing attraction to men have in common? They are never referenced again after this episode. I haven't seen/read all the supplemental materials so maybe they're referenced again but honestly if it isn't in the show I don't think it should be taken as gospel.
Now, this is not to say Yang couldn't be bi/pan/some form of sapphic that likes men and women. I don't think we have any confirmed sexuality for her. This isn't about saying what your headcanons are. This is only about people who refuse to accept the possibility that Yang could be a lesbian because of one easily ignored piece of evidence.

The thing I’m trying to keep in mind right now regarding the Rooster Teeth news is this:
RWBY made it nine seasons. Nine. Seasons. Over ten years. For an indie series made by a comparatively small team. That’s more than most big studio shows get.
Even if we never end up seeing the end of it (I’m still holding out hope), even if you never cared about the show or thought it went downhill at some point, you have to admit that that is incredibly admirable.
Monty Oum, Miles Luna and Kerry Shawcross wanted to make a show, and they did. And that little show ended up becoming a whole ass franchise with over a hundred episodes and legions of fans all over the world.
And no matter what, I think that’s worth celebrating.

I want to clarify that I’m not giving up hope that things will work out in some capacity. I still want to believe that the little web show that could will find a place that will let it finish its story.
This show is so freakin popular, not only in the states but also in Japan, who not only dubbed the series but even made their own anime for it.
This show is so popular that it got a two movie crossover with the Justice League.
WB may not care about legacy or passion or creativity but they do care about money. And while I’m just some faceless voice on the internet I’d like to think WB are at least smart to see that RWBY is profitable. It can make them money.
My preference would be for them to also keep the writers, VAs, and music team the same. That would realistically be my most ideal scenario.
Will we get it? I don’t know. But I’m not about to doom and gloom a situation when there’s still a shot, you know.
“Blind optimism isn’t great, but no optimism means we’ve already lost. We need hope. We need to take risks.”

Once again back on my yearly bullshit to stress how important Bumbleby really is for sapphics in media
Bumbleby is a slow burn, opposites attract, golden retriever/black cat romance. Individually Blake and Yang are both well written female characters, and not to mention their two of the four titular characters.
It wasn’t rushed, they aren’t badly written and they’re not random side characters.
It’s to easy to forget that Lexa died in Clarke’s arms, that Korra and Asami had to walk into the light, and that so many other shows have been cancelled or one of them died.
Bumbleby is a win

im still on the "yang fell first blake fell harder" boat because i imagine yang just didn't know how to name her feelings (so didn't exactly realize it but was very much attracted to blake since early on), simply bc early yang is so goddamn fruity around blake for no reason at all, that girl was mad attracted to her im telling you. she's just got so little experience in this sense that it took her a while to understand and accept that she had feelings for blake, bc the thought of being rejected or even just perceiving herself loving someone, loving blake of all people, must have terrified her and made her feel too vulnerable to accept that just yet. she was like - i pretend i do not see it - and danced away

As night falls on the Paper Pleasers's village, Blake and Yang take some time to reflect on the events of the day, how they got to where they are, and where to go from there.

Hey all can you please go unlike and unreblog this person’s fanart of Blake and Yang holding a lesbian flag if you want to -> post . As someone who’s bisexual themselves, when I first saw this post it was my mistake of giving this person the benefit of the doubt thinking this was Blake helping hold Yang’s flag (lesbian hc), which I shouldn’t have because the artist acknowledges that Blake is bisexual and still chose to say that they’re both lesbians in their fanart, which is not at all okay. This is 100% erasing Blake’s bisexuality and the artist sees no problem with doing this and stands by their decision of erasing Blake’s bisexuality, so please spread the word if you want to
Edit: I made some edits to my original post to make some things more clear

I'm just putting this out there because I'm thinking about it and because I want people to know it's not just them.
I don't really read fic anymore. It's not because I stopped liking it, though. It's because I made a rule for myself that I'm not able to follow.
I told myself that if I read a fic, I should comment on it. And not just "I loved it!" but a detailed comment. A live reaction or at least quoting favourite lines. Maybe talk about symbolism or about references I caught or about characterization etc.
I did that because I loved the authors I was reading and because I'd received so many lovely comments like that and I wanted to be able to pass that joy onto others. But then I found it hard to actually comment like that.
I could manage it sometimes? Oneshots weren't too hard, for example, but multichaps? My rule was that I had to comment every chapter. And the kinds of comments I wanted to write, well that meant reading on my laptop because I hate typing on my phone.
Eventually, I felt so guilty when I read fic without commenting on it that I stopped reading fic altogether. Better to just not read if I wasn't able to hold up my end of the bargain.
I shifted out of my fandom not long after that, and I haven't found a new one that's sparked the same interest (ie obsession), so I don't know if I might be able to fix this habit if I ever get into a new fandom in the future. All I know is, don't be like me.
Comment as you can and when you can, but don't set up strict rules like I did. I can't speak for all authors of course, but I know that personally, I'd rather you enjoy my work without commenting at all rather than make yourself feel so guilty you stop reading it altogether.
