Faith of the Phoenix

Prologue

Long, Long a go in the (L/N) Kingdom lived a mythical creature known as the Phoenix. The Phoenix lived in the land far longer than humans that inhabited the lands. Many kingdoms had tried to take the lands from the kingdom but the royal family hearts pure and true were deemed worthy of the phoenixes powers and protection and the phenolic began protecting the kingdom. However one faithful day A rival kingdom came and successfully tried to take over the kingdom and tried to kill the Phoenix. The royal family came to the aid of the Phoenix. For the first time the family heard the voice of the Phoenix speaking to them. The young child of royal family walked over to the Phoenix and thanked it for everything it had done for the family. The Phoenix told them it wasn’t going to die and that Phoenix don’t die but get reincarnated. It told them that I thanked them for all the love and kindness that it showed it and that it’s final wish was to protect the family for generations to come. Using the last of its power it cast out all the enemies and blessed the young child hugging the Phoenix its powers. Before it died it looked at the child and said “Child you now have the powers and abilities of the Phoenix. It will help protect your and your family from dangers here and far for generations to come. Once every child that your bloodlines births will pass on this trait, but be careful if you were and any of your offspring were to be killed with this trait the cycle will be over and you will lose the powers and…

Y/N POV

You wake up with a startle breathing heavy and looking at the your surroundings. “That Dream again”. The sheets feeling more warmth surround the room covered in darkness. You take a deep breath trying to relieve the pain that lingers in your chest from waking up so suddenly. Everyday the same dream.. it keeps growing but it keeps getting more complicated. Pushing the sheets off you get off the bed before walking toward the balcony. Opening the door and walking to the end of the balcony. Taking a deep breath as you appreciate the air. It was dark night and the moon was illuminating the night sky. Looking outside the castle walls of what your glorious kingdom is. Chills going down your spine after remembering the dream. It seems that it’s occurring more frequently and you don’t know why. Anytime you ask your father he always brushes it off and says it’s only just in your head. Placing your arms on the ledge of the castle you release a sigh you didn’t even know you were holding. “Father keeps saying that’s it’s all in my head. I’ve read books about our kingdom for so long , and I’ve asked so many people about the Phoenix yet they always brush me off. Why is it a secret and why am I the only one not allowed to know about it. I’m the inheritor of this kingdom... yet all my questions are always brushed off. I wish I could understand.” A shooting star flows across the sky causing a smile to come across your face. Clasping your hands across your chest you make a wish. “I wish to understand more about my kingdom”

If only I knew to be careful for what I wish for..

“...Come on bby- one more time pretty pleaseeee!! With a sugar sprinkled cherry on top?!!”

You groan out in refusal, not even having the energy to roll away from your torturer. Oh why did your body have to betray you so?? Your legs and arms felt like jelly and your lungs burned with every labored breath, your chest rising and falling heavily. Whelp, thats what you get for being so out of shape I guess.

You at the moment were collapsed onto the floor on your stomach, limps sprawled about wildly, and face pressed against the cold, commons room carpet in defeat. Mina was completely fine though, not a speck of sweat in sight. You almost envied her for being such a fit bodied hero.

Speaking of, your rose pink alien queen was right down patiently kneeled beside you, trying her best to resuscitate your lifeless form through soft sympathetic pats and rubs atop your back, only of course, to get you well enough to drag you back into hell.

“We’ve been at it for 2 hours ‘shido- the dance is only 20 seconds at most-!!” You cry out in exasperation, trying to keep your body as limp and dead as possible so she couldn’t pull you up to your feet again. Not that you’d even be able to hold your weight before falling over once more.

“Well that’s because you keep messing up the last part silly!! It’s a simple dance my lovely!! Come onnnnn!! Just one more time I promise!!”

You pout, turning your head away from her, mumbling out lowly, “Psh- simple my flat ass aSS. Plus you said that 30 minutes ago-!! ”

Mina doesn’t say anything in retort to that surprisingly, so you take that as a victory. You grin to yourself, thinking you might’ve gotten through to her. But then you reconsider, your grin faltering. This is mina we’re talking about here...

And not even a second later after that thought, you feel a heavy plop onto your back, a tiny ‘oof’ escaping your lips at the sudden added weight.

With a lighthearted glare, you go to turn your head around to question your crazy girlfriend when soft, pink curly floof starts tickling your chin, vibrant yellow eyes appearing in your field of vision all of a sudden, though, upside down...??

Giggling, she presses tiny kisses all across your confused face- Cheeks, nose, forehead, temples, chin-e v e r y w he. r e- and doesn’t stop her relentless attack until your frown turns upside down, or right side up?? She was upside down afterall so uh..- nEVERMIND THAT-

You’re left a giggling mess yourself from the aggressive affection, a small blush faint on your cheeks.

“Okay okay jeez!! I know you’re just trying to butter me up, you’re not sli-mPHF-!!” You’re interrupted by a warm kiss pressed to your lips, the girl eyeing you with a playfully mischievous expression. Though you, used to the girls surprise kisses easily ease into it, squinting at her in disdain, though not complaining.

Well- complaining a little- the weird position made your neck strain.

You expected it to be simple and sweet. But you actually are surprised this time when you feel the gentle swipe of her tongue against your bottom lip, your breath hitching at the sensation.

Your eyes flutter shut immediately, heart skipping a beat -but pop right back open just as fast at the bright flash of a camera.

Breaking away from her with a startled gasp, you look towards the source, her p h o n e, which she was now holding. Incredulous, your mouth goes agape.

“d-diD yOU JUST-”

“Now that’s how you do a spider-man kiss Sero-!! I didn’t even need the cool spider-man tape or webs to do it either. It must be sad not being a bad bitch honestly.” She tsks to herself, typing away on her phone and apparently sending the photo she had just taken of you two in your short lived heated moment, not at all paying attention to you despite her still being on top of you.

With narrowed eyes, you turn to give your lover your best stank face, but that’s when a light bulb comes to mind.

With an evil grin, you brace your hands on the carpet beneath you, eyeing her hand to the right side of you that was supporting her weight, as her other was occupied with her phone.

With a quick swipe, you knock her arm out the way and roll over to the side suddenly, forcing a loud screech from Mina’s lips as she topples over to the floor with an audible, ‘t h u m p.’

Quickly pushing herself up from the carpet, she whips her head to the side to pout at you, whining out-

“Y/NNNNN!!! That was so not cool!!”

Dusting your hands off against each other in triumph, you smile cheekily at her.

“Not as uncool as you using me for spidey boi aesthetic. But anyways I’m off- I’m gonna head back to my ro-”

You freeze up in your spot at the absolute kicked-puppy expression on Mina’s face, her eyes become all doe eyed and sad. And oh no- is she forcing tears now-

“Nonononon-!! Hold the water works you know I’m weak for that!”

Oh of course she knew.

Her eyes continue to well up dramatically, and you can already feel the stings of your heart harshly tugging, despite knowing full well she was totally faking you out. Nonetheless, you crack.

“Fine-!! Alright, alright! We’ll continue...”

You watch her almost instantaneously perk up, crocodile tears all but v a n i s h e d as she bounces up and down giddily in her spot.

You hurry to finish what you were saying before she can say anything-

“But-!! Only one more take and we’re d o n e- I don’t care how stiff you think I look-”

You barely have enough time to finish your sentence before a bird scattering squeal rips through the air, and you’re practically tackled to the ground in a bone crushing hug.

“YAYYYAYAYYAYAYYY!! THANK YOU BBYYYY~~!! ONLY ONE MORE TAKE FORREAL FORREAL I PROMISE THIS TIME-!!”

[Name] knew Keigo was a busy man. Being one of the top heroes, it was expected to be called at the dead of night. They admired that trait from him and other heroes, saving civilians and battling villains, disregarding their own safety to save other people.

Yet, mind foggy with sleep, all they wanted was for him to be beside them, in their shared bed.

“Stay.”

Despite knowing they couldn’t reach him, their hand streched towards his sillhouette in the dark room. Keigo paused, jacket hanging from his forearms as he turned around to see [Name]’s face dazed with sleep, blanket tangling with their legs whilst they sat up properly.

Shrugging his jacket on fully, he stepped closer to them. Grasping their warm fingers in his hand, the winged hero crouched down with one knee touching the floor, planting a kiss to the back of their hand.

“I’ll be back soon, Dove.” He flattened their palm against his cheek, his honey-colored eyes gazing up into their half-closed one. “Like I always do, yeah?”

“Promise?” they slurred, arms going around his neck while he adjusted their position, laying them down on their bed and covering them with the blanket.

“Yeah, I promise.” Keigo pressed his against theirs, sealing the deal.

Takami Keigo was a pro-hero, one of the best. He was carefree, laid-back, uninterested in social status and reputation. The winged hero worked hard to build a society where heroes have free time, where villains doesn’t cause chaos, willing to go great lengths to achieve that. He was willing to taint himself for the people.

However, despite that, he always made sure to come home to [Name].

“This is stupid.” The spiky blonde glares into the mirror in contempt, huffing angrily at the ridiculous sight before him. In his head he wonders why he even agreed to this stupid shit. There’s no way in hell he’s going out like this. Hearing a tiny giggle from beside him causes his gaze to snap to the source. From there his eyes fall onto his s/o, who was trying- and failing to hold in their bouts of laughter, eyes crinkling in obvious amusement. He would have found it pretty endearing if he weren’t so annoyed. His eyes narrow further. “Oh come on, it’s not that bad!! You could even say your appearance is quite, e x p l o s i v e!!” Bakugou's eyes nearly roll to the back of his head as he has to mentally tally another one of their goddamn terrible puns. It’s been non-stop with ‘em the moment he got into this damn costume, and if he had to hear anymore he felt he might actually explode (Pun not intended). His nerves rose higher and higher for every second he was in the get-up he reluctantly decided to put on, of course in accordance to the absolute pleading of his s/o. Tsking, he meets the reflection of the dumbass he called his lover’s watery eyes in the mirror, and unconsciously goes to cross his arms, groaning at the realization that he can’t. “How come you get to dress up as the Minecraft hero while I’m a lame ass creeper??”

His face scrunches up at the barf green material, shifting uncomfortably in the beyond smothering costume. He couldn’t even move his damn arms, and the only way you’d even be able to recognize him was if you peered really closely into the dark tinted square eye holes, to which you’d be greeted with glowing red, rage filled orbs. And it would be at that moment you knew...you mcfucked up. In short, if you had managed to get that close while he was in this unfortunate state, you were already long gone. “Well isn’t it obvious babe?” The blonde raises a single eyebrow at the subtle lilt of their tone, expression unimpressed under the costume, though still curious of their next words. They smirk in triumph, shit eating grin splayed wide across their face and a mischievous glint in their eyes. Bakugou’s own eyes go wide as it dawns on him, though he’s too late. “Don’t you fucking da-!!” “You blow up at everyone all the tim-” Smothered telltale pops sound throughout the small bathroom dangerously, causing his s/o to jump in surprise, a startled squeak falling from their lips. Before the smell of burning synthetic fabric and sweet caramel can even reach their nose they’re flailing their arms around in surrender, nervous laughter replacing earlier giggles. “-aHAh I mean it’s cuz you’re bomb!!” “Uh-huh. Better fucking switch it up.”

Chapter 2

Flashback Part 2

Ayona’s POV

Zarina looks at me with shock in awe. “How come you didn’t tell me about this before?” . I chuckle “You ask me this story so often, but you always tend to forget.'' Zarina sighs “Well, i guess i’m more forgetful than i thought”. I laugh before patting her head “We had good times didn’t we” Zarina says. I turn around and look at her “I don’t remember all that well… I mean it’s been about 3 years since Mom and Dad..” I cut her off “Yeah, I know it’s shocking. It’s been so long I can hardly believe it”. Zarina’s smiles “Okay let’s change the subject now how did mom and dad react to you after the fact.

Flashback

I held Zarina’s hand as we walked up to mom and dad. My wings were still sprouting on my back and they didn’t go away. Mom and Dad looked up at us and ran over. My parents looked concerned as they walked up to Zarina and I. Zarina let go of my hand and began crying. My parents looked at her and patted her head asking if she was alright. She nodded and said she was fine now because I protected her. My dad looked over and then tapped my mom on the shoulder and she looked and gasped. My mom picked up Zarina in her arms and my dad walked over to me and squatted before petting me on the head. “You finally developed your quirk”. He hugged me and my eyes grew wide. I felt calmer and before I knew it the wings retracted and the horns in my head disappeared. I began crying as I hugged my dad tightly. He looked at me solemnly as he picked me up. He picked me up and then my mom also holding Zarina took us home. I remember waking up and later on the couch wrapped up in a blanket as my mom and dad. My parents were on the opposite couch of me and Zarina. My dad looked at me and said” Wake up your sister. This is a discussion for both of you”. I shook Zarina and she woke up. She rubbed her eyes and looked at mom and dad. My mom reached for my dad's hand and looked at us. “We need to have a discussion about your quirk” she said , I looked at them confused. My dad frowned “You see Ayona when i was your age my quirk developed later like yours did.”. My mom walked over to us and sat between us “Like you Zarina my quirk developed on my birthday.”. My dad smiled at us. Our Quirk is known as Dragon Strike. We have the power to develop the attributes of a dragon. Our quirk is strong and also destructive. Since we have the power of a dragon we have the effects of one and when we get angry… we transform into a real dragon and we lose control. Our power can kill people.. That’s why today when we saw you, we decided it time to finally have this discussion.” I looked at them and looked at my hand “Does that mean when i attacked that boy earlier.. I.. could have hurt him.” . My parents look at me and nod “You were really lucky today Ayona.. Since you're a kid you wouldn’t have gotten in trouble but because you are also a dragon people will be afraid of you. So from today onward you have to be really careful with your quirk okay”. I nod before my dad also joins us and gives us a hug and then my mom joins in”.

Flashback ends

“And that is it. That’s all I remember” Zarina nods “Wow, shocking I don't remember that”. I facepalm “Of course you don't. You were 4 years old and I have a better memory than you” She rolls her eye “Wow Ayona I appreciate that” I chuckle before hugging her “Hey Zarina, you know I'm always by your side. She nods before hugging me back “I know because the Fudo’s always stick together”. She pulls away from the hug and gives me a fist bump.

Ch.1 Backstory Part 1

The wind is bustling on a very gloomy day in Musutafu. People were going on with their everyday lives, except for 2 individuals. 2 girls were sitting on a train with a solemn look on their faces. One girl who had long curly, brown hair and bright purple eyes. She looked around and felt eyes on her. She clenched her fist and gritted her teeth. “How come people still look at me like I'm a villain because i have horns on my head and my skin tone is darker than most people I know. How does that make me evil'' she thinks “Ayona?” she looks beside her and sees her younger sister starring worriedly at her. She looks at her sister, her short brown hair straightened her brown hair much lighter than Ayona. Her dark green eyes shine brightly. She smiles at her before saying “Yeah, I'm fine Zarina ''. She wraps her arms around her sister and smiles. Her phone vibrates and she sees she got a text. She glimpses down and responds quickly before she hears the rail line shout the name of their stop. Her heart rate quickens as she grips the bag on her shoulder and takes a deep breath. The train stops and the two girls get off the train. Zarina looked at Ayona and said “Do you think that we could fly there instead of walking. Ayona pauses as her body tenses before patting her sister on the forehead “No, we can’t remember, were not allowed to use our quirks in public remember?’. Zarina sweat drops “Oh yeah, that’s right.” Ayona chuckles “ I had a feeling you would forget”. Both girls chuckle as they begin walking in silence toward the town in the small urban area. As the two girls feel eyes on them Zarina clutches her sisters hand. Ayona looks at her sister and smiles “It'll be okay”. They begin to speed walk to their old family home. A grand three story home resides on a hill surrounded by a black gate. The girls saw their old home the closer they got. They walked to the gate and Ayona tapped on the buzzer “Hey it’s Ayona and Zarina. It’s our annual visit”. She clicked off the buzzer and waited for a response. She heard a chuckle “My babies are back!!!!”.The gate opens and the two girls enter. They walk up to the front door which opens as soon as they get to the porch and are greeted by a tall silver haired green eyed woman. She runs at the girls and immediately glomps them in a hug “My nieces are back” The two girls hug their aunt tightly “Long time no see Miyuki” Zarina says as they pull away from the hug. Miyuki grins “Come in Come in” the two girls enter the house. Ayona and Zarina eyes glisten as they enter their childhood home. “It looks like just how I remember it. I know we come here like twice a year for about a week at a time, but thank you so much Aunt Miyuki for taking care of our childhood home.” Ayona bows, while Zarina just smiles in the background. Miyuki pats the girls on the head, she chuckles “You say that every visit Ayona. I told you it’s fine you're my brothers children, you know us dragons we do anything for our family. I may not be the one raising you but I will always preserve the house your parents raised you in.” Ayona half-heartedly smiles “Yeah.” Zarina touches her sisters shoulders before looking at her aunt “Is it alright if we head to our rooms”. Miyuki nods and the two girls head upstairs. They walk up the grand staircase and look at the very large hallway as they get upstairs. Zarina and Ayona look at each other before stopping in front of their rooms directly across from each other. They touch their door handles and open their own subsequent doors.

Ayona’s POV

I opened my old bedroom door and I immediately was hit with a feeling of nostalgia. The bright red bedroom with posters about knights, dragons and princesses covering the walls. Bookshelves full of books about dragons and the different abilities of them. I dropped my bag and sat on my bed and felt my body sink into the mattress. I looked at my nightstand and saw a picture frame that had a photo of my parents, my sister and I. I reached out and brough the picture closer to me and put it in my lap. I touched my parents face on the photo only to notice tears on the frame. I didn’t even notice I started crying. I brought the photo to my chest and clutched it tightly to my chest. “I miss you guys so much”. My shoulder shakes incrementally as I sob. I feel my body get wrapped up in a hug. I look in front of me to see my sister “It’s okay Ayona, I miss them too, but they wouldn’t want us over they would they”. She begins wiping my tears and back away from the hug. I nod “Yeah, they’d want us to celebrate them and not cry over them.” Zarina nods “Yep, exactly they may be gone but they're still with us in our hearts and our DNA i mean were Fudo’s for crying out loud. I chuckle before pulling Zarina over to me and giving her a noogie “I’m the older sister i’m supposed to be comforting you” Zarina pulls away and rubs her head “Ouch! That hurt and yeah maybe your older sister but that doesn’t mean i can’t comfort my big sister Ayona”. I smile “Yeah, your right”. Zarina sits on my bed and looks at me. “Hey do you remember when you first developed your quirk Ayona? I know mom and dad talked about it so fondly, but I don't remember you ever talking about it yourself.” I turn around and look at her “ Well since you brought it up, Yeah i do remember it. You see back when we were kids and I was 4 and you were 3 you had already developed your Quirk, but I for some reason did not…”

Flashback (Age 5)

My mom and dad had taken me and Zarina to the park. I remember pushing her down the slide but she was too scared to go down alone. I looked at her and told her it was going to be okay. So I sat Zarina in my lap and we went down the slide together. She was squealing so loudly it was so adorable to me. This was definitely my baby sister. We went back on the playground and I told Zarina to go on the slide without me so I could ask my parents a question. Less than a minute later I heard crying so i went back up the stairs on the Playground and saw a bunch of older kids surrounding my sister. I went up to them and pushed them away. I looked at my sister who was crying and was about to wrap my hands around her when I saw her wings had sprouted on her back and had wrapped herself in a ball. The kids that were surrounding my sister were laughing “Haha what a FREAK who would want to befriend someone like you. You're like a villain. Maybe I should take you to the police, you should rot in jail!” one kid had said. “Maybe we should call All Might he might know what to do with someone like you” another kid had said. I was getting so angry ‘HOW DARE THEY TALK ABOUT MY BABY SISTER LIKE THIS’. “How about you guys shut up and mind your own business” I said. The biggest kid who was standing in the middle of the other two looked at me and smirks “And, what are you going to do about it girly”. I tightened up my fist and got into a fighting position “Then I’ll fight you!’. They all started laughing “Haha i doubt you can do anything, your probably just a monster freak like your SISTER”. I tightened my fist before I felt like I was engulfed in rage. I punched the middle guy in the face really hard. I remember hearing a really scary growl, but I don't know where it came from. I looked at the kid I punched and saw what looked like scratch marks on his head. “What.. What did you do to me you MONSTER” I looked at him and then looked at my arms and saw dragon scales running down my right arm and saw some claws dragon claws coming out of my fingers. I looked at them and then looked at the guy i punched and growled at him “You and your friends better leave me and my sister alone or I promise I will punch you again so hard you will be more afraid of me then you already am” I felt so much taller than i thought i was only to realize because their were wings sprouted on my back. The boy quickly brushes himself off before crying and running away with his friends. I didn’t realize I was even flying before my feet touched the ground. I walked over to Zarina who’s wings had already rescinded in her back. I began petting her head and looked at her and smiled “Don’t worry Zarina i will never let anyone hurt you. That's my job as your big sister, okay?”. She looked at me and I hugged her. She began crying again and I kissed her forehead “No more tears okay, you’ll always be safe.. Because I am here”. I sat up and extended my hand to her, she took my hand and we walked over to the bench where my parents were sitting…

Clutching his side, Denki staggered towards the sound of battle. His breathing was raspy, vision blocked by the vast amount of dust that surrounded the demolished buildings. He had only one objective in mind: finding [Name].

It wasn’t supposed to be like this. Denki was supposed to have a nice day with [Name], a date! After much effort, they finally agreed to go out with him, and then their first date had to be sabotaged by some villain.

Tripping over a piece of rubble, he fell forward. His body was aching all over, his mind felt like it couldn’t process anything. Everything hurt.

Debris pierced his skin as he pressed his palm into the ground, attempting to heave his body up with one arm. Grounding his teeth together, he cursed himself for being so weak in moments like this.

A strong current of wind forced him down again, and the dust cleared. Getting a clear view at everything around him, Denki’s eyes widened as he spotted the person he was looking for.

There, in the middle of the chaos, stood the villain with [Name] in their grasp.

Ignoring his injuries and how his body felt like it was tearing him apart, Denki scrambled up. He lunged towards the villain at full speed with a determined face, yellow electricity crackling around him like an aura. At that moment, he was a force to be reckoned with.

Kaminari Denki was considered a class clown by a few, an idiot by many. Due to his speech being goofy, his attitude sometimes blunt, the majority would brush aside his reckless side as being stupid. But what they didn’t know, what they didn’t consider, was his reckless side is what sometimes made him a hero.
