Bonbon Candles ; a flair for whimsy
I started making candles after my sister had given me a handmade soy wax candle. This candle was so different from anything which I had experienced before. What struck me is how effective it was to carry beautiful scents. This is where I started to research and understand the benefits of soy wax.
Around the same time, I way experimenting with clay, because that’s what you would do on a lazy sunny day. I had this piece of clay in my hand, and just like a mindless doodle I quickly realised I had shaped it into a cupcake. At that point, I thought about the possibilities of creating a soy wax candle shaped like a cupcake. I knew nothing of candle making, or of moulding, but I researched and I’ve learnt. I kept on experimenting, creating, testing, and moulding. Finding value in handmade gifts, through the years I gave my creations to friends and family. The cupcakes evolved and 5 years down the line, I finally decided to share my whimsical creations with the world. This was the start of Bonbon Candles.
