It has just occurred to me that of all the characters in Winnie the Pooh, the only ones that lack both fingerless stuffing hands and faint seam lines (the indications that someone is a stuffed animal) are Rabbit and Owl. Which carries the possible implication that Rabbit and Owl are just a normal rabbit and owl living with a bunch of sentient stuffed animals.
Tumblr media
And somehow this makes Rabbit’s constant consternation with all of his neighbors even funnier to me.

FWIW, "mauve" was one of the coal-tar dyes developed in the mid-19th century that made eye-wateringly bright clothing fashionable for a few decades.
It was an eye-popping magenta purple
Tumblr media
HOWEVER, like most aniline dyes, it faded badly, to a washed-out blue-grey ...
...which was the color ignorant youngsters in the 1920s associated with “mauve”.
(This dress is labeled "mauve" as it is the color the above becomes after fading).
Tumblr media
They colored their vision of the past with washed-out pastels that were NOTHING like the eye-popping electric shades the mid-Victorians loved. This 1926 fashion history book by Paul di Giafferi paints a hugely distorted, I would say dishonest picture of the past.
Tumblr media
Ever since then this faded bluish lavender and not the original electric eye-watering hot pink-purple is the color associated with the word “mauve”.

Someone who subjects themselves to their own sissification, feminization fetish (described in Long Chu's own writings) isn’t making a “moral” argument when advocating for the same for children.
This is the difference between "transgender" and transsexual.

I am thinking about how my father's generation would hide Playboy magazines and swear by god that they were just keeping them for a friend if their wives found them. Now men openly watch the most violent, dehumanizing pornography and call their wives Karens for questioning their morality. It's crazy how much we have regressed on this issue.

I need people to stop excusing the misogyny of young boys. Not only is it daft--because men don't just wake up one day being misogynists, it's after years of reinforced sexism built up throughout their lives--but it also shows how little they care for young girls.
Even if these boys "grow out" of their misogyny (?), the young girls surrounding them at that time in their lives still had to deal with sexist comments and language and behaviours that will shape them in their own lives. It is spirit breaking for girls to have the inappropriate actions and words from their male classmates, male neighbours, brothers, cousins, etc., not only dismissed but unopposed and unchallenged, because for some reason it is seen as acceptable in young males.
There should be a zero tolerance on any misogyny from boys

That's also what I mean when I say I want the debate shifted. There should be no debate on whether women should have abortion. Woman wants abortion, she gets abortion. End of story.
I want fierce debate on how to get men to stop being sexually irresponsible and/or coercive. I want pills recommended, I want condom use mandated, I want fines and jail-time while men insist they really did use it correctly, it just broke! They swear! I want mandatory vasectomies on the table as doctors fight to improve the reversibility.
I don't mean, let's not leave men out of the abortion debate! It takes two to tango! No. I mean no more abortion debate. Women get to have abortions. Period. That's it. I want the abortion debate replaced with an entirely new debate that targets men and men only.

“Although they are housed on her person, from the moment they begin to show, a female discovers that her breasts are claimed by others. Parents and relatives mark their appearance as a landmark event, schoolmates take notice, girlfriends compare, boys zero in; later a husband, a lover, a baby expect a proprietary share. No other part of the human anatomy has such semipublic, intensely private status, and no other part of the body has such vaguely defined custodial rights. One learns to be selectively generous with breasts—this is the girl child's lesson—and through the breast iconography she sees all around her, she comes to understand that breasts belong to everybody, but especially to men. It is they who invent and refine the myths, who discuss breasts publicly, who criticize their failings as they extoll their wonders, and who claim to have more need and intimate knowledge of them than a woman herself.”
-Susan Brownmiller, Femininity
