in these drawings I wanted to focus on Anatomy. With the experience in box forms and perspective studies, I was able to intuitively imagine the box forms and draw the body. While starting with gesture lines, I managed to focus on the most fundamental pieces such as the head and used that to build upon my gesture lines, creating a strong foundation to correctly draw anatomy in the correct proportions while also compensating for perspective foreshortening.

Here I was far more concerned with anatomy and how the light hit the planes of the body. I was interested in how foreshortening affected the way the boxes warped in perspective and attempted to emulate the very same effects to make my study pieces seem to exist in a 3D space. The boxes also helped me to understand the relationship of scale between each of the boxes and how scale not only represents how far away from the eye objects are, but also what they are by relative size to other objects. I intended to simultaneously represent the body in 3D space and also accurately depict the anatomy in each pose. The boxes also helped me to isolate and accurately depict the orientation the different pieces of the body were rotated

Gestures -
My main concern with drawing this was trying to encapsulate the gestures with confident strokes and making sure the action line strong in every pose. I wasn’t too interested in composition but rather was focused on keeping my lines clean as well as showing the body with strong gesture lines.
