I finished my 250th book for the year yesterday (Near the Bone...so good). So, I'm calling it quits on 2021. Anything else I read is going to be counted for next year. Here are my favorites from each genre. The only book not pictured is The Shining because after all 3 of us read it, our copy was destroyed lol!
A little mid-month Wrap-up. Its shaping up to be a pretty good month with lots of atmospheric spooky 4-star reads. The Love Hypothesis slid in at the last minute to become my favorite Romance of the year, so good!!
I made the mistake of taking the boy to B&N and he couldn't stop picking up books. Two are mine (Alice Isn't Dead and Hex), the rest are his but that won't stop me from reading them after him lol!
As usual, October was my best reading month as far as quantity with 30 total reads but only three 5-star reads. There were several honorable mentions (see below), so I am happy but there were several I expected to be blown away by that were just okay (for me).
First our new bookstore closed, then the used book section was removed so thrifting books has become next to impossible. It was an hour away from home, but I found a Goodwill with a massive book section. I think it was worth it lol. Clearly there will be more trips in the future.
Hi can you please rec me books with best friends of years that act like a couple and are really close who eventually fall in love.
Sorry I never answered, I've taken a huge break from the site (and romance in general). The two that instantly come to mind are Christina Lauren's "Josh and Hazel's Guide to Dating" and then a newer release called "People We Meet on Vacation" by Emily Henry. Both are long-time friends who develop the feelings years later, happy reading friend ;)
Title: Gods and Monsters by Shelby Mahurin (Book 3 of 3)
Review: Was this book better than Blood & Honey? Yes. Was it still afflicted with copious amounts of unnecessary characters, page filler, and unanswered questions? Also yes lol! It should have been a duology, plain and simple. I do think we need more of the NA Fantasy genre, which pushes the boundaries of YA but doesn't get mired down by the complex world-building and page count of Adult Fantasy. This could have been a great duology.
So many books, so little time, I have been accumulating supernatural titles all summer in anticipation of the spooky season. My shelves are slowly coming together!
You can tell a lot about a person by looking at their bookshelf. For example if you look at my bookshelf you can see that I desperately need another one
