Picture from yesterday, out to Opossum Creek Falls in Long Creek, SC. 6.3 miles through the Appalachian Mountains, 700 feet of elevation gain. So, easily felt like 12 miles. December 3rd, 78 degrees. Ugh.
What I've been working on the last week now, I went back and added the leather shape bits over where the braided ties emerge from the suede jerkin (inspired by the ties that Faramir's outfit had). And I made the Ithilien-ish pouches that normally rest on a sam brown style strap across the chest, though I've opted for them to go onto my quiver strap as I've got enough straps across the chest as is. In fact I'm contemplating changing the thin leather strap goes down to my waterskin into a thin rope instead to break it up some.
Just got my deer antler tips in the mail and cut them to fit as closures for the pouches, and after I took this pic I began drilling them to run cording through (that attaches to the pouch so they cant be dropped/get lost). Which is what I'm currently working on. :)
