Posting about this pretty much requires an accompanying essay.

AI as it stands right now is an absolute garbage fire of art theft, I think we can all agree on that.

But something I’m very interested pursuing if it ever improves is taking an illustration and having an AI try to create an image from that, then repeating the processes over and over until it becomes something else entirely and then redrawing the final outcome.

Originally I drew messed up up hands as a jab at ai always getting hands wrong but over time they just became flowers for some reason.

Something I’ve thought about for years is having an AI that’s been trained on my own work and using that create weird characters designs and making work based on them but that would require A LOT of work that I don’t currently have the time for.

To clarify, I’m very much against the current trend of AI generated images make up from an amalgamation of stolen artwork.

But as a whole I think using AI within art has a lot of potential. Just.. not like this.

Here’s an example. The one on the right is the original, the one on the left is end result.

Trying to get back in to the habit of using sketchbooks/ drawing on paper rather than doing everything 100% digitally.

So here’s a wizard(?) I drew on drafting film last night and coloured on the tablet machine this morning.

It’s so silly cos like, it’s way easier to just bash out some drawings in a sketchbook instead of cracking out the iPad every time. But I seemed to stuck in this weird stuck in the weird cycle of only producing Very Finished Things.

Anyways, expect some more off the cuff sorta things from me I guess?
