Which psd do you use in your tifa gifset edits?

I’m a little disorganized so it’s hard to point out how I use which ones specifically,  but the ones I can say for sure that I frequently use are psd86 by royalscolor and psd31 by aboutcolorings  +  a ton of selective coloring adjustments underneath and above the psds themselves to make the colors stronger / color correct the screencaps.

Cloud’s True Self with Tifa

Just some extra notes regarding this translation.

“When he talks to Tifa, his true self briefly emerges.”

That quote above is from the recently released FF7R Ultimania (we posted it earlier, but we have a little more to say about it), from Nomura himself. He talked about deliberate choices being made in terms of voice direction for Cloud. He wanted to make sure Cloud interacted with Tifa, Jessie and Aer|th differently.

Let’s break it down, in case anyone is interested:

The thing is: 素が出る is an actual phrase that’s actually often used. It can’t just be translated casually. See below for examples.

Bless Remake for confirming Cloud has never been an asshole to Tifa and never will be an asshole to her.

Basing my anticipations on the OG,  I was surprised !   Not because he was ever negative towards her to start with,  but because FFVII doesn’t really turn into the Cloud  &  Tifa show until around midway when the true plot twist starts unraveling,  so mostly I was preparing for a much longer wait before we really got to the vindicating goods.  Thinking about it  +  all the additional Cloti  /  Zerith leanings that came with each post-1997 Compilation entry,   I guess it makes sense that they’re planting some seeds earlier on than OG players are used to.  We just get to see it in crazy detailed brand new scenes now.

Never would’ve gotten this face across in low poly !

I was actually finishing up uploading this gifset   (X)   when it snapped that   .   .   .   all of those moments of Cloud’s inner heart coming through were within the same time frame   -   a time frame before the point where that one  “Aerith melts his frosty exterior, only she”  argument could have a chance to be at all valid.  Same with my pre-release post about AVALANCHE and their affect on Cloud’s evolving opinion of things  (X)  now being validated by his character summary in the Ultimania.  

That,  and the Ultimania putting into words what we’ve all surmised about Cloud’s development,   his disposition,  and where Tifa fits into all of this as far as his early game state of mind is concerned,  more things than I ever would’ve expected this early on in the story are getting their nods in-game and out.  I’m totally fine with being wrong about things,  but it’s nice to know when I’m not !
