it was recently brought to my attention that the Violate arc for madhouse was completely just NUKED. it just skips straight to the aftershocks arc which...I'm sure a lot of gossip blogs are making a lot of hay regarding the dishonesty in trying to ignore the existence of the arc in question; somehow I'm more offended that it just makes the writing of the story even worse because now the story reads like AB DEF HIJK completely throwing off the rhythm.
C!Lily and G's interactions in the aftershock arc is informed entirely from....something the story isn't going to tell you because the writer decided to completely retcon what is arguably a core segment of the story. Why is C!Lily putting a lock on her and C!Mikaila's door? don't worry about it. Why is G and C!lily having so many of the very emotional and serious conversations they have? Don't ask questions just roll with it.
It just makes the story worse. somehow.

Loki; perspective, and meta.
So This post has spoilers for Avengers Endgame, and Loki.
so like. I know this is a minor detail to fixate on, but....
Right. Loki. the Loki of the show Loki, is a variant of Loki, the Loki from Avengers and Avengers Endgame as well as all the thor films.
Loki is dead, but the variant Loki is alive. and the variant Loki's whole motive there was a whole
and if you've already watched it.
Paper weights.
two words will make you....either laugh because it's clever, or angry because....
Tony Stark, Natasha and Vision are dead. over paperweights.
So Loki is running through the TVA's offices demands the tesseract so he can fuck off back to his timeline and rule the world because that's just what he wants to do.
It's in an evidence locker with....multiple iterations of the infinity stone.
a throw away line that they get used as paper weights puts everything so nice into perspective for Loki that the things he wants....the place he's in right now has so many of them that they are insignificant.
now if only the MCU hadn't spent the past decade using them as very very important macguffins that were the entire focus of the past two films at that. And hadn't caused 3 very important characters die over them
But then....thats the point?
I hate it, but also like. what's a more poignant method of putting things into perspective for Loki and us, the audience. than making us see the most important thigns so far in the mcu as just...paperweights.
It's a scene I'm trying to think of a better way to execute, but I can't

Kamen Rider: Power Rangers older slightly more mature cousin
So okay, I'm gonna preface this with a little pre-amble.
Kamen Rider was previously inaccessible in america, making it so that the only means to watch it was through streaming sites, but only recently did the franchise begin licencing distribution to america through Shout Factory dvd sales and the TokuShoutsu channel on Pluto TV. So while if you know where to look you can very easily find any entry in the franchise through alternative methods, I would be remiss to say that if you have any chance to support the franchise legally to please do so. And with that out of the way...
Kamen Rider!
In May 1938 Action Comics number 1 unveils to the world SUPERMAN. An alien from another world sent to defend Metropolis Fighting for Truth, Justice, and The American Way.
Nearly a year later in March of 1939 Detective Comics number 27 brings us, Batman. who fights corruption, and crime on the dirty streets of Gotham City so that no one ever have to experience the pains he once did.
50 years ago on april 3rd of 1971 a new show was created. It was not the first in it's genre but it would go on to become one of the monoliths with in it.
The Original Kamen Rider is the story of how Takeshi Hongo was abducted by the evil organization SHOCKER forcefully made into a cyborg, but before he can be brainwashed to do their bidding he escapes and chooses to use the abilities given to him by shocker to fight them and prevent them from taking over the world.
The original Showa era of Kamen Rider was all connected and would run through 9 series additions to the franchise along side 3 original films.
meanwhile, in the modern day of the Heisei and Reiwa era's there are now a total of 20 and 2 series for the two respective eras. All unconnected, but occasionally move crossovers occur
In the spirit of the original each series follows a protagonist who acquire great power from the same source as his respective antagonists, he proceeds to use these these powers for justice and righteousness.
it is kinda like power rangers and in certain series they actually directly cross over once or twice. however Kamen Rider sort of bends in the direction of the 13 and up set, where power rangers and Super sentai are kinda more geared to the 10 to 12 set (though, real talk, age demographics are kinda bullshit, just watch whatever you want friend) People have died. VIolently during the storytelling in Kamen Rider.
The main characters are often goofy, usually relatable and a touch childlike in demeanor. The bad guy is TERRIFYING. typically the Kamen Rider has a couple companions, then eventually a second Rider to fight along side them. along the way they're either collecting or happen across things that will inevitably be sold to the demographic as toys.
It's formulaic, but formulaic isn't bad so long as there's passion in the execution.
Anyway, it's time for the reccomendations part of the essay.
Kamen Rider Fourze For those of you most familiar with the original mighty morphin power rangers and want something bent in that direction. This is your point of entry. Gentaro Kisaragi wants to make friends with the entire world, and no one is going to stop him. Every one of the 48 episodes are split into a series of two parter's making the show feel much shorter than it is, it rarely gets especially serious, and has so much going for it that I feel like going to deep into it's very basic plot gives too much of it away.
Kamen Rider Ex-Aid: So the world is being plagued by a deadly viru-WAIT NO COME BACK I PROMISE IT'S NOTHING LIKE....real world....Ex-Aid was release in 2017...okay, sit down? okay I'll keep going. So Emu Hojo is a doctor who gets wrapped up in trying to figure out how to cure The Bugster virus, a video games disease that infects people and then eventually becomes a monster that can kill you. Emu teams up with the people of the Computer Rescue team at his hospital and discovers the secrets of how the virus came to be and then some. This is one of the series that look far more Silly on the cover but is like...way more deep than expected.
Kamen Rider Gaim: Did you like Madoka Magicka? Well Gen Urobuchi was involved in the writing for Kamen Rider Gaim, one of the writers of the Dagonronpa series was involved too. So you probably know what to expect from this. Everything is a metaphor until it stops being a metaphor
Kamen Rider Build: TO THIS I OWE BIAS. Build was my point of entry and for that this entry in the reccomends may be longer.
The story begins 10 years ago. The first expedition to mars has successful returned a mysterious stone box named Pandora's box (no. it isn't subtle at all.) Upon touching this box A GIANT STONE WALL splits japan in three with members of Japans government shcisming off and making their own three states and naturally they're in a state of coldwar (because this is not a subtle show). In the modern day Ryuga Banjo has been framed for murder, he meets our protagonist Sento Kiryu, They live in a coffee shop and are very gay together. They fight the evil organization Faust (not subtle) and it just keep going from their.
You should really watch Kamen Rider

CW: NSFW Content relating to sex, as well as a lot of questionable content being played for laughs.
Tumblr media
This isnt’ a good fic, but also I’m not sure it’s aiming to be good.
The story is a romance/humor short story, aproximately 4 chapters long dealing with the eventual Sora getting laid. Well, drugged by 2b from Nier: Automata
So right off the bat, I’m pretty sure not supposed to take this fic serious. In the first few paragraphs we have the narrating not realising that Sora isn’t Anakin Skywalker.
While I’m not familiar with Kingdom Hearts’ fandom explorations I do know that often the fact that the story deals directly in exploring the multiverse means that sooner or later people start trying to see how far they can push the “just where the heck can Sora go, and not go?”
So we get random throwaway lines like Sora unwittingly owns Bumblebee and doesn’t realise his yellow camaro is a transformer, the narration directly pointing out an inworld twitter knock off as what it is
In case your wondering this is not going to be a long excursion.
This is a popcorn fic if ever there was one. There is no fourth wall. No one, not even the narrator is taking it serious, and I’m not sure what is and is not intentionally bad.
I didn’t read it in full detail as I had an idea of what to explect purely from skimming through things
Tumblr media
If this isn’t a good indicator of “Crack” fic, I don’t know what is.
The only thing I can really call into question is the fact that part of it’s premise relies on the idea that sora getting drugged and then r*ped...so you know. There’s that.

And I want to make it clear, I mean this with as much respect as I can.
Lily, if you don't want me or anyone scrutinizing the the various information you make public on your wiki, maybe use google docs?

Christopher Robin: Review and Analysis
This is another review I wrote. This one was wrote two years ago, and a coupld days after I'd seen the movie, Christopher Robin emotionally resonated with me very heavily so you can see the emotions in the writing here.
Christopher Robin.
A review(With some spoilers).
Winnie the pooh being talked down to by Christopher Robin, is a scene that created a profound sense of wrongness that was instantly understandable, and yet utterly difficult to put into words. The visual of an adult, speaking to the very sentient embodiment of his childhood with the exasperation of a parent who has forgotten the limited understanding and unlimited imagination of the person they are talking to sparked a sense of sadness and unhappiness that resonated so deeply within me. I say it’s hard to put into words, because only one word can describe everything about the scene from the movie, and everything about Christopher Robins life up to that very moment.
Unfair.
Christopher Robin as played by Ewan McGregor in the 2018 movie of the same name, is the grown up adult that was once the boy who played with Winnie the Pooh in the Hundred Acre Wood. Winnie the pooh was a book written by A.A Milne and if you’re old enough you’ve likely read the book, or had it read to you, or read it to a child. But for me, for my sister, for who knows the number, Winnie the Pooh was made iconic through a series of old vhs tapes as well as compilaitons of those tapes, and a number of tv series spin-offs and straight to dvd movies that were part of my growth and development. My mothers favorite was eeyore, my dads was Tigger. It is with no sense of shame that I will tell you that Winnie the Pooh is my earliest memory of any sort of cartoon.
Maturity is something I have a very hard time connecting with as someone with autism, I still watch cartoons and feel connections to fictional stories that can be even more outlandish than something so simple as “The adventures of a boy and his stuffed animals come to life.” and somehow I lost track. I paraphrase a good friend of mine when I say “I don’t know when it happened. But somepoint in my growing up I left the hundred acre wood” and knowing that I left it behind, fills me with an emptiness that I feel even now as I write upon this page. In growing into an adult I left the hundred acre wood, like Christopher Robin did.
It is Unfair.
The film details via montage Christopher Robins catapulting into adulthood. A boarding school that worked to hone his skills with math and history and other such things, his fathers untimely passing making him as an unnamed woman attending the funeral would say “The man of the house now.” Meeting the woman who would become his wife, enlisting in World War Two and leaving his pregnant wife while serving, the slow and gradual disconnect from his family as he buries himself in the rigors of being a manager for a luggage company.
The movie starts proper in the summer, Christopher Robin and his family have made plans to go to his childhood home for a vacation. Christopher is a man so deeply rooted into ‘work’ that his wife doesn’t remember the last time he laughed, his daughter is explained as only being such a good student in an attempt to make her dad happy and to forge some sort of connection, but even she has realised by this point that her dad isn’t going to be the dad she wans.
The Christopher Robin we are shown in the movie of the same name is a man so deeply rooted in the rigors of adult life that he picks working over his family. “Because Nothing comes from Nothing.”
It is Unfair.
I won’t tell you every bit of the movie. But I believe it is likely that you can imagine a rough outline of it based on the trailers, and other movies such as this have transpired. Jim Cummings Reprises his roles as Eeyore, Tigger, and Winnie the Pooh. The man himself has performed these roles for the entirety of my being alive, and it can only be imagined the roles are so deeply engrained that the actor could have been adlibing, and I would likely have never known with out reading the script myself.
What I can tell you about the movie is to have tissues nearby. Because with a measured certainty if you have any sentimentality for the name, the characters and what they represent, be it personally or overall, you will cry. For in my understanding the movie weaponises childhood nostalgia, and with the practiced aim that only The Walt Disney Company can possess fires and lands directly into the deepest most inner part of your emotions to rend tears from your eyes.
I’ve thrown the word “unfair” through out this essay, because in my eyes the movie visualises what had been something I’ve noticed about growing up, becoming an adult. That as you grow older the world becomes unflinchingly, uncaringly, unfair. Get a job so you can earn money so you can pay in to all manor of bills, rent, insurance and what have you. If you publicly declare an admiration or liking of things society has deemed to be something not for adults you’ll likely face all measure of passive agression to guilt you into quitting, public ridicule or become the subject of who knows what rumors. Adult life is unfair to the point it wishes to dictate the means by which you cope with it.
The scene as described in the opening paragraph is the penultimate example of this harsh unfairness. Christopher speaking down to Pooh in a manner of that as a scolding parent, tired, angry, frustrated and no longer enteraining such notions of “Heffalumps and woozles.” Dredges up old memories of my childhood and being told in no such uncertain terms that there are no such things as monsters, simultaneously devaluing my imagination while building up my understanding of reality at a young age. There are no monsters under my bed, nor in my closet. The tooth fairy isn’t real, santa claus doesn’t exist.
But the Woozels do exist. The Heffalumps are reals. They are the teachers who do what is with in their ability to smother out creativity, supervisors at work demanding your full and unflinching loyalty to the job and force you to pick the job over family. They are the people with hammers continuing to drive the spike that pushes the gap between childhood and adulthood all the further apart and write it all off as unimportant. And adult life rewards them nothing
And it is unfair.
The movie confirmed the simple to understand idea in my head that adulthood in it’s own way is a slow to creep up on you, yet fast to strike, it will not let you go, and you will be stuck with it for eternity.
But, it isn’t all unfair.
If you have family who love you, and friends that care about you, heffalumps and woozles can be defeated. Because Heffalumps and woozles in the end, don’t matter. The people they represent, hold no power, beyond what you must deal with from them.
You can still go to the hundred acre wood.
I reccomend the movie. Obviously.
