The road map to customer support heaven!
Tumblr media
If I had a penny for each time I heard one of my friends complain about a long drawn phone call to customer support for just about every service/ product under the sun; No, I won’t be a millionaire but I could definitely buy that lust worthy Louis Vuitton bag I've been dreaming about. You should know they don’t come cheap!
So what is it about this ‘Communication cycle terrorism’ which is only second to the amount of fear ‘Gabbar’ once instilled in us? Let me take you through the process of connecting through to the said ‘customer support’ by an average Indian, about 100 times (Poetic exaggeration!) a week.
1. Light bulb moment when you realize that procrastination is no longer an option. You have to bite the bullet and call the dreaded customer care for reasons untold by many sages!
2. A quick prayer in front of the newest deity – aka – Google and Voila! You have a 10 digit map to reach them.
Tumblr media
3. One… (Ahem! Maybe a dozen) CTRL+C – CTRL+V later you’re on a spiritual journey to self realization.
Tumblr media
4. But the road to nirvana is always under construction. Even though you might be at the pearly gates, the fight has only just begun. You’re greeted by the sweet sounding voice (usually always female. *sic*) welcoming you to the gates of heaven.
Tumblr media
5. Now choose your weapon – English, Hindi or another regional language. Simple enough. Or is it?
Tumblr media
6. Follow the countless corridors of IVR while the ‘by-now-nasal sounding’ voice dangles the proverbial carrot in front of you and urges you on to burrow deeper into the heavenly abode. You might feel you are in The Matrix and The Twilight saga all wrapped up in one.
Tumblr media
7. There! You have the magic number. If you’re a god’s favorite child, you might finish your work here. If not, you queue up to reach the St. Peter of Customer support land – The customer support executive! *Drum rolls*
Tumblr media
8. Your resolve is tested while the ‘by-now-Rakhi Sawant-like-sounding’ voice keeps on assuring you how important you are to her and her band of employers and to please keep on walking the tight rope (hold the line) for a few seconds more.
Tumblr media
In the mean time you can watch the paint dry or go play fetch with your neighbor’s dog or have an argument with your spouse till THEY win it! (You never would, would you?)
Tumblr media
9. Finally an alien gets online, sounding like they are talking to you from Mars and will always get your gender greeting confused, unless of course you have a very definite sounding name like Genghis Khan or Alexander the great!
10. A few fumbles later, you finally get to state your sins and ask for a pardon (read customer complaints). A few hundred ‘please hold the lines’ later while you listen to the once melodious sounding tune but by now it probably sounds like the OST from ‘The Godfather VIX’, your problem or request gets taken into account. Nirvana!
Tumblr media
11. In case it’s not your time in the heaven yet, your call will randomly get disconnected. This means you’ve lost the plot somewhere and officially landed in ‘HELL’.
Tumblr media
Please go, wash your face, recite ‘Hey Ram’ 100 times and start all over again!

Making of Breeze 3.1.0!
After a month of rigorous development and testing, we are proud to announce the next version of Breeze.Would you like to know the major features introduced? Here they are -
Categories
Tumblr media
Many of you requested for categories and we delivered it. Now, it's very easy to find the companies you were looking for. When you are on the home screen, just tap the navigation drawer (3 horizontal lines next to Breeze logo) and you will be presented with a nice, scrollable list of categories. Once you choose a category, the drawer gets outs of your way and shows companies in that category. Simple, isn't it?
Simple and powerful search
Tumblr media
We, now built a more powerful search options for you to quickly find the companies you are looking for. Just enter the name of the company (partial name is also OK) or category or certain keywords, we will try hard to find those companies for you. For example, to search for all restaurants, type in "restau", "food" or "hotel". Isn't this cool?
Simpler navigation
Tumblr media
We also simplified menu options for you. Previously the menu items "bookmarks", "recent", "feedback" and "share" were hidden and were not available easily. Also, they appeared on the top menu on some phones and options button on some other. This was confusing. We made it consistent across all phones by having them in the nice footer menu. Not only that, they are now available from all the screens, so you can reach any part of the App in one tap. Fast !
Download this brand new version now and share with your loved ones. You will save them lot of time and be their hero !

My experience calling customer care
Tumblr media
My washing machine, IFB Senorita Plus, that was working flawlessly for almost 6 years broke down suddenly as if it had a major heart attack. I wanted to call IFB service center immediately, however I didn't have their number handy. I searched the Internet for their number and called them up. My call went to IVR as usual and I listened patiently and intently to the their options and chose the correct one. Finally after choosing 2 IVR options, I got connected to the operator. I spoke to the person who was very courteous and I thought my washing machine will be repaired quickly. However, due to some communication problem between IFB and local service center, I had to call IFB service center repeatedly for almost 10 times. Every time, I called them up I was getting irritated by the IVR interaction because I wanted to speak to the operator quickly.
In parallel, my TV, Sony Bravia, started showing aging issues. Again I didn't have their number handy, searched again and called them up. However, this time the IVR was even more horrible. I had to listen to IVR for almost 5 minutes before I arrived at the right option i.e. TV related issues. I had to call Sony 3 to 4 times before my TV got repaired. I was hating IVR by that time. Have you felt the same about IVR's connecting to your mobile service provider, appliance provider, taxi booking etc?
