I love old fishing photos from friends' families. First is Suzo's mom Mel at an unidentified location and next is Suzo's grandfather CP at Tona Lake near Prince Rupert BC
Up before dawn, three trips to the truck with gear, drive an hour plus, find the lake covered in ice. Yo ho, yo ho, an anglers life for me! #flyfishing #secretspot #trout (at Secret Spot)

Spent the morning exploring the Similkameen River - a bit high and fast so I move on to Lightning and Flash lakes. Trout were tiny but very abundant and accommodating #Manning Park #trout #flyfishing
Imagine you find yourself the only guests at a world class fly fishing resort for three glorious days. The heat may have driven the trout a bit deeper but they're still there and the are average 2.5lbs and larger. Thank you to the amazing crew at Stoney Lake Lodge!
Drying out my gear from this trip before I head home. Howell Raines said "buy the best gear you can afford" - I'd like to add to that -buy the best gear you can afford and maintain it. Never put your gear away without drying it and lube your reels at the end of every fall. If you look after your gear it will reward you with many years of service. And for folks starting out, don't get trapped into spending $$$ on high end reels if you don't have to. A reel is a storage device for line unless you're targeting fish that will give fast peeling runs then in that case you should consider a performance reel
