In the Name of the Lord
So many of the decisions made by the Texas legislature are based upon the bible and the "teachings" of Jesus despite a strict demand for separation of church and state. You know, a supreme court judge almost overruled Texas's ban on gay marriage, only to have that ruling over turned by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. there was an article I read that claimed that the judge, Orlando Garcia, was denying not only the 10th which i must agree with, but also the 9th with which i must disagree in the fullest. since the 9th states that no enumeration of rights in the constitution can be construed to deny those retained by the people.I believe the Texas Government violated this to the extreme. Denying those, legal, working, and law-abiding citizens the right to marriage simply because, it "defies God's will" which is blatant disregard for Separation of Church and State. Not only this but i believe Marriage is part of the three inalienable rights stated in the Declaration, those rights being the right to life (marriage being a large part of that), liberty (the right to love and marry who you want), and the pursuit of happiness (the legal betrothal to one's love might help someone in such pursuit. Not to mention, TEXAS, that the declaration states that people have the right and the duty to alter or abolish any government that is destructive of these rights. So I ask those who read this, that you stand for the rights of the oppressed, where they cannot obtain this on their own, rise up against this government as it is not only your right, but your duty.

Now i implore you, brothers, watch out for those who would cause dissensions and pitfalls contrary to the doctrine you have learned. Avoid them; for such people do not serve our Lord, Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattering words they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.

Texas Government
Can we just stop a minute and talk about it. i've lived here for ten years and still don't understand how so many people could be so closed minded about everything. Though i didn't find out until recently, that there is in fact a law that prohibits anyone under 18 from getting a tattoo even with parental consent. The only time they permit it is to cover up a "obscene or Offensive" tattoo that they somehow got without even being able to get it in the first place, unless it was obtained in another state (a herp a derp). Now this is just me but i consider that an obstruction of personal liberty, that one should be unable to change his or her body to his or her liking or to express oneself in one of the only social acceptable (albeit not very widely) ways. As it is often frowned upon to truly express your true personality in this sick, twisted society we live in, were the government focuses more on tattoos and piercings, sexual attraction and which kind of music "should be banned" than truly dangerous and prevalent crimes that beseech this state. For one, Houston, once a shining city, even home to an ivy league college, is brimming with crime and poverty, were people wait at ATM's to kill as soon as someone takes their money out, or to simply shoot the driver and take the car than simply throw them out. things that the local police are forced to deal with without any aid from the state government whose duty is to protect the liberties of the people and if walking down the street without constant fear of being shot or killed isn't something that the founding fathers thought to be a liberty or innate human right, then i don't know what kind of "rights" the government is supposed to protect.聽
