I think if I was making an eldritch horror fishing game I'd focused much more on the moments of fishing where nothing happens and you're simply waiting. A first person perspective built around those quiet moments where not even the fish are biting and all you have are your thoughts and the sea would give much more tension.
It felt like there was something always happening, either watching the timer or fishing up from the extremely close together fishing spots and islands that there was no moment for the horror to linger in and start making me feel uneased
i finished dredge a few days ago and thought it was ok. Maybe because the horror didn't land or I expected more of a descent in to insanity like the Eldritch horror I know but compared to most people I don't think I liked it as much.
Also it being a part fishing and selling game that ultimately doesn't matter at all felt not great as someone who likes to play around maximum profits in games. It felt like the two halves of the game never completely jelled for me and then one half just completely got tossed away
