created a fan video for the wonderfully unsettling "lesson 16," a spoken word track that's half in english and half unnamed conlang, from episode 5B of the they might be giants podcast.

since the song is like a language learning audio cassette, I made the visuals somewhat similar to an instructional video cassette. was fun to make and work out the structure of!

it's always super encouraging to hear stuff like this and it having a positive effect, cause this is like, the only platform I feel comfortable exploring these aspects of a relationship to gender w/o it being seen as cringeworthy or a joke (somehow the "cutesiness" of domesticity made me feel silly as well lol), and I was so shy over it for ages until a couple other artists did it first haha.

yeahh art summary time !!! a few of these I already used for art vs artist a little while back, but here's my fav (or only lmao) of each month!

so I've still yet to replicate the sheer amount of motivation I had back in 2020, where I ended up happy with enough things that I'd done, that I actually had to combine some choices together. BUT I think I've hit a nice quality over quantity this year.

I'm finally no longer locked to a singular, earthy palette (tho I do fall back on mustard yellows a lot, huh), and I've actually drawn a few more original creations here and there, too! my fursona also made a few more appearances in my art this time. there he is. 4 times, counting the apology doodle. :)

I think this may also be the first year the recap hasn't been totally dominated by whatever the hell I've latched onto now, tho the "here comes science" johns have managed to sneak onto it twice. oh, I guess the "don't let's start"-inspired piece too lol.
