So! It’s been a while!

This blog is on a semi-indefinite hiatus until I can scrounge up the interest in the AU again! Hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later!

Hey where are you been?

But the best answer is, busy! I’m gonna explain further under the cut, so warnings for talk of death, cancer & homelessness — there’s also good stuff tho!

For anyone who doesn’t want to read, the Tl;dr is that good and bad life events have rendered me unable to find motivation for this AU as of now!

So, hi everyone! I haven’t just spontaneously combusted and died, I’m still here! This year has been, a lot so far!

So, the good news first:

I got engaged! My lovely fiancée and I got officially engaged last August! So I was quite busy with that for a while! We’re happy and engaged and the party was so lovely! It was honestly a dream come true for me

And this January, I become an uncle! My brother and his girlfriend had a baby! He’s such a small little cutie, he’s started teething recently!

And I also got some new pets! I got axolotls, Algae and Lemonade, and I love them so so so much! They’re such fun pets to have! And then after that we saved 2 other axolotls! So we’re a very pet heavy household right now!

And I just got off a very nice and relaxing 2 week holiday! Very nice to be home, but I enjoyed it very much

All of this has kept me very very busy already!

But now we have the bad news:

My mother was diagnosed with PNES last September/October (Psychological Non-epileptic seizures) and I’ve been keeping a watch on her, meaning I have to be very aware and call an ambulance if she has some

My mental health has been up and down recently, as has my physical health! I’ve been struggling a lot with possible nerve damage in my dominant arm, and general motivation to draw specifically this au

After a long battle with cancer, my fiancée’s grandmother passed away yesterday evening, which has impacted us all. She was a lovely lady, and she’ll be forever missed

And 3-4 days ago (time is hard), we have been notified the landlord is selling the house we live in, rendering us homeless once it sells if we can’t find a house in time

So! That’s the score rn! I’ve got a lot on my plate, and as much as I really wanna do something for this AU, it’s currently a struggle to find the motivation to do a lot! I have thought about making a fanfic instead of a comic, but even then I’d still want to draw for the pages — there’s a lot to consider with things like this!

Oh my GOSH! Shiny, this looks amazing! I love how well Steven’s design translates into your style, you clearly worked super hard on it! And little Stevie is so cute too! I’m sure the boys would get along really well!

One more question about that - are you SURE your stuff hasn't already been backed up? Like, to iCloud or something? -and/or that the program you mentioned doesn't save pictures to some sort of cloud as well?

Like, I had Verizon, lost my phone, and then was so pleasantly surprised to see all my stuff backed up to Verizon Cloud. Just as an example period of any phone's secret backup 🙂

Well it was! But sadly I was locked out of my ICloud account and I have no way of proving my identity yet! And also I don’t know how much of it would be backed up

An idea would be making a server for just yourself on discord, and when you finish pages, post them onto your solo discord so that even if you lose your phone, you don't lose your important pieces! I hope you have a great day!

Losing key files

Now that I’ve posted a new comic, I need to dampen the mood a significant amount. About four months back, or about a week after I posted the new reference sheet, I dropped my phone down the stairs. Now this is important because my phone is where I did all my drawings, and when it dropped it didn’t turn back on, it died for real. For months after I had nothing but MSPaint to draw on, and I was not drawing a comic in MSPaint.

I cannot back up any of the art I lost, and a lot of it was key things for this AU, a lot of which I hadn’t posted for spoiler reasons. This AU lost about 65% key things to the AU which I am unable to get back.

This AU will continue, but this bump was, relatively big and hard to overcome. I now have a new thing to draw on (thus the new comic page) but, maybe just a little slower than expected due to this massive set back.

But for now, the AU is back and in full swing, so continue to enjoy and thank you for sticking with me!

Indefinite Hiatus

Hey gang! Sadly we have had to push the hiatus to an “indefinite” status, because of a few reasons:

My motivation for this AU, along with the rest of my AUs, has dropped significantly. If this was the only problem, I could quite luckily get through it, but...

My physical health is in a decline. I am critically underweight, and because of this the doctors want to admit me to hospital.

I have acquired (hopefully temporary) nerve damage in my dominant hand, which makes drawing incredibly, incredibly difficult. If it continues on, I’ll go and see a doctor to see what they believe is going to happen with that

My mental health has been less than stellar, and I can’t really enjoy my AU like I used to. It’s just not fun for me anymore, as much as it pains me to say. I know it’s probably just my depression kicking in but I can’t seem to enjoy a lot of things anymore.

I’m sorry for this, and I promise I will try to come back when I can. When I come back, the blog might get a hard reset, since there’s a lot about this AU I want to tweak or change.

My hiatus has been extended

Because apparently no one on tumblr knows how to act like normal humans, I need to take an elongated hiatus from drawing the comic so I don’t put unnecessary stress on myself!

It sucks, honestly, that people on tumblr seem to dislike me to the point of block evading to send me 7 paragraphs of hatred in my messages — I’m still legally a minor and I’m half sure most of the people doing it are adults, it’s sad

Until all of this calms down, I can’t continue the comic without fear of them coming to this blog to try and message me as well — so while I still might post drawings, I can’t promise that the comic will be back for early February
