Reality.
She wished her reality wasn’t the one she was in.
This would never be home to her, she belonged where they were.
She wanted to be the queen fighting for her kingdom, or the girl in love with a boy who would burn the world to ashes if she was in danger.
This world will never be enough.
That’s why she reads endlessly, because at least in the books she finally feels like she’s home.

Fictional love.
“No, you can’t leave me,” She said to him as he was fading away slowly.
He wistfully smiled down at her. “I was never here to begin with.”
And as they danced for the last time under the stars, he spun her around but when she turned back he was gone.
Back to the pages in her book, and the little space in her mind where he will always reside.

Half of my heart has always been yours.
And I crave for it to come back to me.
Because the truth is, it was never meant to leave with you.

Her heart monitor slowed, and her breaths became weaker. And suddenly, she wasn’t afraid anymore.
Because she could see his brown eyes in her mind. And as she lay there dying, she could feel the rain on her skin.
For years since he had left she’d never felt alive again. She never smiled with the same light.
But even as she was leaving earth, she had never felt more joy.
Because finally he was standing there in front of her. Holding her hand as the wind crashed down around them.
Finally, she was home again.

i miss you so fucking much.
i wish i could see you again just one more time.
but since i can’t, make sure to make a list up there of your favorite places.
and when i make it and our eyes meet we can see everything.
until then, i’ll be missing you all the while.

I seen you walking one night in the cold air with her holding your hand.
I never would’ve thought you’d be with someone who wasn’t me.
But you look happier than you ever did.
And at that moment I knew that even though I loved you, you never loved me the same.
So, I’ll try to let go of you.
I’ll try to keep these thoughts of us kept in a locked box.
Even if I feel like my heart is breaking and my mind is in pieces.
I’ll try to let you go.

Sometimes timing is everything.
I loved him, and he loved me.
But we were thunder and lighting.
Never on time, always waiting.

I wish I could fall for you. That I could just leave those memories of him behind. But I don’t think I’m ready to love someone who isn’t him.

There were nights in may when I thought about you all the time.
Now fall is coming and I still can’t get you out of my head.
So much for letting go.

I was so busy trying to save someone who didn’t want saving that I lost myself.
And I’m still trying to find me again.
The girl who danced to songs in her kitchen not caring who’s watching.
The girl who felt full and happy.
I hope she comes back to me.
Until then, I’ll be searching.

It was like no other pain I had ever known.
Seeing your back as you turned around and left.
The door slammed shut for the last time and my heart shattered.
What am I going to do without you?

maybe if you would’ve met me first we’d sit under a river of stars and you’d tie a lasso around the moon.
if only,
i would’ve loved to see you love me too.
