ok im really curious do you guys have books you consider your "white whale"? as in books you keep telling yourself oh yeah i really want to read that, but you keep not reading it?

To get back into reading, start with shorter/smaller books? Young adult books? Or a book of poetry? Or: take something from your to read list and and every day, preferably around the same time, commit to reading just one chapter. ^^

A+++ advice, though at the moment I think my problem is more finding the time to read and getting absorbed into the story. I know if I jump start it with something easier like you suggested it would help, but working myself up to that point when I know getting through anything longer than a manga volume is going to take me ages is a little disheartening :(

Which is crummy because I have like three dozen things on hold at the moment I would love to get through!! (Irresponsible? Yes I know, but I am nothing if not good at over estimating how much I can physically read).

#I am currently about 50 pages into Hamnet which considering I've been reading in 3-20 minute chunks is impressive #it is EXTREMELY readable #and the 'sins of the father' plot line I thought it was going to be about aren't presented anywhere near as bleakly as I thought they were #going to be? which I really appreciate.
