I’ve already mentioned this a couple of times, but the ending for Captain America’s character in Avengers Endgame is a glaring step backwards in his development, rather than forward. I suppose it would make sense for a character that has a lot to do with the past to end his character arc by going back in time to live in the past... that is if the character in question wasn’t already moving forward with his life and accepted that his former life is gone and has now to deal with the current circumstances. Age Of Ultron has him explicitly say that the man who wanted to settle in and have a family etc was left in the ice. The entirety of Winter Solider and Civil War are about him going against everything and everyone to save his best friend Bucky.

Then Endgame SUDDENLY wants it to be all about Peggy, and how boo-hoo-hoo he misses her particularly both before and after his best friends, a good part of his team and oh yknow half of all live ate the dust. But thats not what his story was going towards, therefore Endgame has to compensate by having Steve watch that damn Peggy picture every once in a while and just so happen to run into a past version of her and somehow watch her through a millimeter of curtain without being spotted, then decide to live with her without telling any of his comrades about it.

This is not to say that people aren’t allowed to change their mind, that’s the norm. But these aren’t real people, they’re characters. And characters should ideally be put in a meaningful story where they develop, not suddenly regress just cause.

Dude, have you ever read the comics? Bucky Barnes is a real national treasure.

I just love his sassy and sarcastic personality so much. Reading any comic where is is a 100% warranty that at some point you will laugh because of something he said. One of my favorites is "Hey, I just spent a week with these idiots. I'm not showing off, I'm working out my frustration."

The best is that his personality is indeed sassy and sarcastic, but at the same time you can see that he really loves and cares about people who are important to him. He tries his best to protect them, he tries his best to be a better person, to don't let his past define who he is.

Also, have you ever seen Bucky interact with kids? The cutest thing ever.
