Staying up late discussing current events your friends while sitting on the floor; drawing comparisons from literature and applying centuries-old philosophical concepts to your arguments.

Slam poetry.

Looking out of place in a room full of stuck-up polo-wearers who expect you to be “uneducated”; absolutely devastating them with the nuance of your knowledge.

Calling out white supremacy and eurocentrism in academic circles; reading both fiction and non-fiction written by people whose voices are suppressed.

Watching video essays and sharing them with your teachers/professors as well as your fellow students.

Using unconventional sources for essays, like relevant paintings or short films or poems or music or anything that is not strictly a book or an article.

My advice when folks are struggling with writing in the third-person omniscient is to Lemony Snicket it up. Give your omniscient narrator strong opinions about what’s going on. Don’t fall into the trap of assuming that the third-person omniscient perspective must also use the objective voice; those are two separate things, and many of the most popular and successful writers who’ve written in the third-person omniscient do not, in fact, use the objective voice.

types of people; soft things to do 

making tea: showers a lot, likes wearing floating dresses and skirts, grows and drys their own herbs, probably an extrovert, loves giving gifts, doesn’t like big groups, can talk forever, has floor cushions to sit on, soft voice, smells good, soft hair, knits their own sweaters, loves bunnies, 

pressing flowers: loves the early mornings, licks dew off of leaves, likes fun socks, sends snail mail, hair is always damp, likes wearing bright colors, likes going on adventures, homemade earrings, loves ramen, doesn’t like little kids, likes the cold, printed tights, bralettes, rumpled, soft cheeks, loud, 

collecting eggs: kinda motherly, all their clothes have big pockets, loves the smell of frying onions, silly, dances and hums a lot, wears rain boots all the time, hates having hair in their face, vv good with animals, gives everyone nicknames, the best hugger, weirdly strong, smells like soup, chapstick, 

stargazing: city lights, always shivering never cold, wearing short dresses, loves shiny things, constantly has a crush, lorde, too much highlighter, smudged mascara, cries easily, always exploring, trespassing is their hobby, lipgloss not chapstick, drinking too much soda, scuffed heels,
