UK tells foreign nationals to leave Ukraine

The British foreign office said all UK nationals "should leave now while commercial means are still available".

Nato leaders have held a meeting, after which Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said the bloc stood "united & prepared for any scenario".

Russia has repeatedly denied any plans to invade Ukraine despite massing more than 100,000 troops near the border.

CNN reporting that Russia invasion of Ukraine imminent

The US and its allies have new intelligence that suggests Russia could launch an attack on Ukraine even before the end of the Olympics, multiple sources familiar with the matter tell CNN.

Previous assessments had suggested that Russia was unlikely to move into Ukraine until after the Olympics end on Feb. 20, US officials had told CNN in the past. The revelation of the new intelligence comes as administration officials have dramatically ramped up the urgency of their public warnings related to Ukraine in the past 24 hours.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Friday that a Russian invasion of Ukraine "could begin at any time," including during the Beijing Winter Olympics, and the United States continues "to see very troubling signs of Russian escalation, including new forces arriving at the Ukrainian border."

Kyiv is among the targets identified in the Russian planning, three sources familiar with the new intelligence tell CNN.

Serving as Biden’s top science adviser, Eric Lander, the head of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, publicly promoted Covid-19 vaccination efforts while having a significant financial investment in one of the vaccine makers, according to financial disclosures.

Under the White House’s ethics agreement Lander signed, he had 90 days to divest his stocks after he was confirmed by the Senate on May 28. While Lander shed the bulk of that stock in June — including shares of BioNTech SE, the German biotechnology company and Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine partner — he waited until Aug. 5 to sell the remaining $500,000 to $1 million worth of stock he held in that company. When Lander ultimately sold the stock 69 days after his confirmation, it was the company’s second-highest stock price ever at $404.92 a share, having shot up more than $50 a share from two days prior.

The consumer price index for all items rose 0.6% in January, driving up annual inflation by 7.5%.

That marked the biggest gain since February 1982 and was even higher than the Wall Street estimate.

Core inflation rose 6%, which also was a notch above expectations.

Real earnings for workers increased just 0.1% on the month when accounting for inflation.

Weekly jobless claims declined to 223,000, below the 230,000 estimate.

On Jan. 28, five students at Haltom City’s Shannon High School overdosed on medication, and two were hospitalized. The day before, four students at Fort Worth’s Polytechnic High School were hospitalized for similar overdose symptoms after ingesting medication. Both school districts have declined to comment on the medication used or the cause of the overdoses.

Benadryl, or diphenhydramine, is a common over-the-counter allergy medicine. It treats symptoms like rash, itching, watery eyes, cough, runny nose and sneezing. The Benadryl challenge, which started trending on TikTok in 2020, encourages teens to take an excessive amount as a deliriant.

“Each of these patients said they got the idea from videos on TikTok that claimed users could get high and hallucinate if they took a dozen or more of the allergy pills,” Cook Children’s said in 2020.

People are are questioning how this can be happening when there are ambulances shortages in rural America, hosoitals still overrun, a 900,000+ death toll, children still spreading like wildfire, and a large cauldron of long haulers that don’t seem able to shake the symptoms that never go away.

But follow the science we must!!! Just one week ago cloth masks were ruled ineffective. Science said. N95s were a must!This week tear them off and go hog-wild!! Endemic-ity is here to stay!  

Into the wild blue yonder! Into the abyss!?

We will see.. And just think of the possibilities! If we stop counting cases, COVID goes away..

SHOWDOWN: SUPREME COURT HEARS ARGUMENTS ON BIDEN VACCINE MANDATE!

The Supreme Court is taking up two major Biden administration efforts to bump up the nation’s vaccination rate against COVID-19 at a time of spiking coronavirus cases because of the omicron variant.

The justices on the conservative-oriented court are hearing arguments Friday about whether to allow the administration to enforce a vaccine-or-testing requirement that applies to large employers and a separate vaccine mandate for most health care workers. 

The arguments were expected to last at least two hours. Legal challenges to the policies from Republican-led states and business groups are in their early stages, but the outcome at the high court probably will determine the fate of vaccine requirements affecting more than 80 million people.

Doctors Grow ‘More Concerned About ‘Flurona’ Trend’

In a statement to CBS2, the New York City Department of Health said:

Co-infection with influenza and COVID-19 is not a new phenomenon, and is not its own distinct disease. NYC has seen some cases of co-infection, and this is expected. We encourage everyone to get both the flu and COVID-19 vaccines to prevent this as much as possible. COVID-19 and flu are both respiratory illnesses and spread in similar ways. Precautions against both are similar, and familiar to New Yorkers: masking, improving ventilation, physical distancing, and staying home when you are sick.

Adding to the concerns, the city’s hospitals are already dealing with a surge of COVID cases.

“Our biggest fear is a ‘twindemic.’ A ‘twindemic’ means that there will be a lot of COVID cases, a lot of flu cases and those overlap cases, too, are possible,” said Dr. Purvi Parikh, an immunologist.

“About 75-80% of all hospital beds across New York City are occupied right now and that number, we do expect to increase,” said New York City Health Commissioner Dr. Dave Chokshi.

Jones added: “It’s not to hurt Trump, it’s so people can know how pathetic he is when you think he is playing 4D chess, going to save you and he’s not!” The vague threat comes amid Trumpworld’s continuing meltdown over Trump’s backing of the COVID-19 vaccine, and pro-Trump radio host Wayne Allyn Root subsequently calling for an “intervention” to be staged for the ex-president. (Jones didn’t return The Daily Beast’s request for comment late Wednesday night.)
