1900
In the 1900’s individuals would heavily cover themselves in thick clothing even when weather was hot. Men’s outfits would consists of dark colored suits, ties, colored shirts along with slacks and leather shoes. Women would wear long dresses that had long sleeves and multiple layers. Dresses were baggy and larger, these dresses were created to hide a woman's body from the public.Women's dresses were usually neutral colors like black, brown, white, gray and on a rare occasion they would be red or blue, a women who wore a dress that were higher than her ankles were seen as taboo and dirty, so dresses were created to cover their ankles. Everyone would wear hats out men wore knitted caps to that were tight, some men wore hats that were rounded at the top. Women wore luxurious round hats that had feathers and flowers sewn onto them. Clothing was made from natural materials such as wool, and linen. Zippers were not a thing back then so they used buttons, hooks, and lace to keep their pants up and their suits buttoned.

Women began to wear slimmers dressed with a variety of bright colors, common colors used by women in the 1910 were green, dark purple, red and blue. Women’s dresses became more light, they no longer had thick multiple layers and the material of their dresses were thin. Materials used were cotton lace and silk. Women’s dresses became tight usually showing off the curves of their bodies. Men still wore dark colored suits and ties but suits became more slim and form fitting, men's suits were not longer overly sized and baggy, they were tighter and made with wool. Everyone's hats became larger and wider along with more styles and decorations for women.

1920
The 1920′s also known as the roaring twenties was a new era for women’s clothing. Skirts were no longer as long as they were, women wore dresses and tops with short sleeves. women were no longer confined to skirts and dresses women wore rompers and pants. Women’s clothing consisted of shiny and shimmery dresses, sparkle was a trend as well as expensive and lavish jewelry. Women would casually wear thin cotton skirts with thin short sleeve tops, hats were in trend as always but they were smaller in size and less over the top.
Men began to wear clothing that was more comfortable and thin. Men wore button up shirts with unique designs and colors, stripes were popular amoungst young men. Men wore cotton pants and they began to use more jewelry and accessories such as watches and chains.

1930
The great depression took place after Wall street crashed and this played a role in women and men’s clothing. It was common for women to make clothes for the family sue to not having enough money or resources. Most of their clothing was hand made with cheap and left over fabrics. Women in the 1930′s desired an elegant and sleek style, luxurious movie stars were in and women wanted to be just as sophisticated as them. Muted colors were popular, as were deep colors. Fabrics with prints in abstract or geometric patterns were also widely used.  A long skirt would occasionally be trimmed with ruffles, flare with flounces, but would most likely be simple with a long slender shape, puffed sleeves were also a big hit.
Men wore dark colored suits that usually had vertical lines. They continued to wear dress shirts and suspenders to keep their pants up while working along wit vests underneath. Trench coats were also widely used by men as well as nude colored sweater vests

Women's clothes of the 1940s were typically modeled after the utility clothes produced during war rationing. Squared shoulders, narrow hips, and skirts that ended just below the knee were the height of fashion. Tailored suits were popular for the men to use, as well as high waisted jeans. Both men and women wore more clothes with patters such as stripes, checkerd tiles, polka dots and floral patterns. Women used belts to cinch their waist making themselves look slimmer and more petite. The large hats men and women wore became plain and smaller, many of the hats no longer help ribbons, flowers, or decorations they were plain, usually colored black or brown. Women continued to wear dresses, Dresses consisted of, rounded shoulders, shapely bust lines, closely-defined waistlines, and fully, billowy skirts define the new, more feminine wardrobe. Blouses, jeans, and long, narrow skirts were also quite popular. This was the breakout for both men and women clothing, clothing became colorful with blues, pinks, purples, reds and other bright eye catching colors as well as unique designs. Men continued to wear suits as well as simple dress shirts with colorful designs, high waisted pants and thick leather belts. Glasses were also seen as attractive on men so they usually wore fake glasses.

The 1960s were an age of fashion innovation for women. The early 1960s introduces men and women to drainpipe jeans and capri pants, which were worn by Audrey Hepburn. Casual dresses became more unisex and often consisted of plaid button down shirts worn with slim blue jeans, comfortable slacks, or skirts. Women also enjoyed wearing outfits that were a set, they wore tops and bottoms that matched each other along with pillbox hats that were trending due to Jackie Kennedy.  Men began wearing multicolored sweaters as wells as silk long sleeve shirts. Mens pants were no longer as tight fitting, in fact they were more flowy.

This era consisted of wacky colors and designs plastered all over coats, jeans, tops and whatever else they could get their hands on. Mens clothing became tight fitting once again, they wore funky colored button up shirts with bell bottoms and multicolored ties. Ties with designs and different colors were loved by men in the 70′s. Womens clothes also proceeded to become shorter and more colorful. Abstract designs were trendy along with multicolored pieces of fabric. Unlike recent years the 70′s were all about color and designs.

Clothes proceeded to become more colorful and design filled, Neon colors and eye catching design were wanted by many. Comfy and baggy clothing became trendy amongst teens as well as exercise wear. Men and women began to wear similar clothes. Bomber jackets and baggy sweat pants was trendy. Wearing shorts and pants became normalized for women. Men and women's fashion were alike in style, color and design.

Bright colors and wacky designs began to die down. Men’s fashion consisted of denim jeans, a kitted sweater, graphic tops, and button up short sleeve shirts. The length of women's skirt was no longer as taboo as it was in the bast, women began to wear short dresses and coats, as well jeans and a simple sweater. The designs on clothing weren't as wild and random as they were clothes became more symmetrical with it designs as well as more cleaner looking. Plain colored clothing began to make a comeback once again along with bell-bottom jeans. Clothing became more plain with a touch of unique pieces.

2000′s 
The early 2000′s clothing styles consisted of over sized jeans, leather pieces of clothing, mesh tops, cropped tops, and over sized sunglasses along with lavish and eye catching jewelry and accessories. The apparel was made to be dark and over the top .Random pieces were thrown into outfits and they all somehow came together to create a look. In the year 2000, some of the casual women's and girl's fashion trends were over sized sunglasses, over sized hoop earrings, worn out jeans with a boot-cut hem, wedged flip flops, denim jackets, chunky sweaters, scarves, Sketchers,belly shirts, and tube tops. It was trendy to show some of your stomach, hence why a lot of clothes from the early 2000′s are cropped.
Men wore more simple clothing items such as dark colored band shirts, leather jackets, over sized metallic coats, sneakers, along with over sized and baggy pants. It was trendy to use snap-back hats backwards and have silver or gold chains dangling from your pants. Simple dress shirts and track suits were also worn frequently.

Today’s clothing consists of simple pieces mixed in with more loud items, clothing today Is abstract. Clothing trends from the past are incorporated in today's style. Skinny jeans are popular amongst everyone as well as sneakers such as Converse, Adidas and Jordans. Casual clothing has become more of a trend, a chic sophisticated look Is very popular. Individuals tend to wear more dark and neutral colors rather than anything that pops out like neon and we tend to wear clothing with minimalistic patterns and shapes. Men and women usually wear simple graphic tees, plain sweaters, and jackets along with some skinny jeans and sneakers Accessories are created to compliment clothes, not so much to stick out.
