Two steps ahead of me

I’d grab her hand

And tell her to slow down

She would

Just for me

“Best friends”

Was what she called us

I wanted it to be more

One day she almost ran off

So I grabbed her hand

And cried, “Wait...”

She let go...

Kissed me
