Oh, my sweet femme.

Where do I begin? My femme, she is so filled with love and care. Every day, I love her more than I thought possible. Every day, I fall for her again and again.

She empowers me, appreciates me, reassures me, encourages me without pushing me, she loves me, and she makes it clear. Washing away doubt, tearing down my walls to build gardens.

She asks questions, oh my goodness, she asks questions. Purely because she would like to know, she would like to know me. The way I could have at length discussions with her about anything under the sun, and I do, because she seems to know just what to ask to have my generally quiet self yap her ear off.

Her big, beautiful eyes. I fall into them daily and lose track of my words. Intoxicatingly sweet, deep, dark, and reminiscent of home, her eyes are like molasses.

Her long hair, constantly being twirled around her manicured fingers, or, when those fingers are busy tracing hearts on my back, falling so delicately in front of her face. The perfect excuse for a small act of intimacy of tucking her hair behind her ear.

You should see her when she laughs, the way her smile lights up a whole room.

Oh, the way she cares for people. The concern she holds for others, and the action she puts into place to help the people around her, to make the world a brighter place, she is so incredibly compassionate, and I adore it.

"Tell us about your femme." There is far too much to tell! Every time I look at her, I feel the stars in my eyes and my heart soar. I could learn every language, have all the words to describe the love she brings, and still struggle with feeling I've understated it. My femme, her beauty both inside and out, is beyond words.

Because every day is lesbian visibility day, I’d like to take the opportunity to appreciate my fellow femme lesbians. You all are so wonderful and fierce and beautiful and add so much value to the lesbian community and to the LGBT community at large. Femme lesbians are what helped me to realize that I am a lesbian and feel comfortable in that, they were quite literally my introduction to the lesbian/LGBT community when I first came out as a lesbian and I owe my entire heart and soul to them, they are what helped me take pride in and embrace my identity and my femininity. Femmes are so sweet and adorable and kind and also so fierce, badass, and protective, and the way they embody femininity is so unique, powerful, and revolutionary, in a way that I just can’t help but admire. You are seriously the most powerful creatures on the planet and truly take the world by storm, from one femme lesbian to…well, every other femme out there, I adore, appreciate, and salute you. You are so valid and awesome and strong, and no matter what any ignorant person says, your femininity does not make you gender-conforming nor straight-passing. Even if others don’t see you, I see you! So keep being your incredible, unstoppable, lovely selves! 🧡🤍💖
