Girl in Red’s new song!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I’m sure you have noticed that the new song “October Passed Me By” by girl in red is like a continuation of her most popular song “we fell in love in october”
I mean the the cover shows how the girl from the first song isn’t in girl in red’s life anymore, hence the missing person in the album cover.
The new song is about reminiscing about the good times that she had during her time during the “we fell in love in october” era.
But ever noticed that the melodies contradict each other too?!
“we fell in love in october” has a pretty basic melody that doesn’t have a lot of change. Meaning she sort of stays near one note for a lot of the song.
Buuuuuuuuuut
“October Passed Me By” has a very wavy melody. It goes up and down and up and down. I mean that’s pretty cool that girl in red did that.
AND
“October Passed Me By” has capital letters where “we fell in love in october” has no caps!!!!!
THE SONGS ARE EXACTLY DIFFERENT BUT WITH THE SAME UNDERLYING TOPIC
I MEAN GIRL IN RED IS A GENIUS!!!
Thanks for reading !!!!! :)

Why I think the writers of Arcane made the “Hexgates” such a big deal *spoilers
Tumblr media
Have you ever though “Out of all the things that Jayce and Viktor could have made, why did they choose to make transportation (Hexgates)?”
Hexgates were introduced in the beginning of episode 4 after Heimerdinger told Jayce to make the progress day speech.
This I feel this marks the beginning of Hextec (that Jayce co-owns) and the beginning of Jayce’s climb up the political chain of power. (Aka the start of him gaining more power - he now can influence more people)
And we all know that stories or movies or shows or songs etc. Try to reflect on our world.
So it’s not a surprise that Arcane would do the same.
These characters want power, and generally power comes from land and money.
So if you can transport and sell faster than other countries or whatever, you will make more money and gain more power.
So Jayce KNEW that he would get lots of recognition and POWER from making a better form of transportation!!!
Also… when you get more money countries start building up more weapons and military. Aka more power!!
What was Jayce’s next invention?
The gauntlets and the Hexclaw… even though stated to be helpful tools to the public, they clearly are/will be used as weapons. He even made a weapon purposely later on.
So this was Jayce’s way of getting recognition and power :)

Something I noticed about Arcane’s “villains” *spoilers*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a bit scattered in my brain so bear with me here…
I feel like Arcane does a really good good at balancing characters. There are somewhat good characters and somewhat bad characters.
Now I know this might be weird to think, but I don’t think that there are really “good guys” and “bad guys” in Arcane.
If you think about the villains vs the heroes in Arcane you might think “Silco and Vi” but both of those characters have parts that make them evil and parts good.
Vi is stubborn and has a hard time dealing with emotions. Which are “villain” like traits.
Silco has compassion and is very smart and persuasive. Which can be “hero” traits.
But those are just two examples. In every. Single. Character. You can see that there is a really good balance of good and evil.
Like Marcus. He is a side character but Riot still put in a lot of effort to make his character balanced. He does everything that Silco wants, which is all bad things. BUT he saved VI’s life, a girl he had basically never met before.
He saved her life by arresting her instead of letting her go to Powder where Silco would have killed her. (Last few minutes of the third episode)
Arcane is just too good!!!! I LOVE THE BALANCE
Anyway, that’s all! Thanks for reading!

A theory that I have about powder falling in act 1, which could possibly be overthinking things. *spoilers*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sorry that the formatting is so weird.....
I noticed how in the first episode when Powder, Vi, claggor, and Mylo were doing parkour Powder almost fell off the build and how she also fell off of Silco's building.
Now this might not mean anything, but this is how I see it:
First fall - Powder falls and Vi catches her. Powder says "Thanks". Now if Vi didn't catch Powder she would have died. When someone saves your life, I think that you would give more than "Thanks" at the least you would say "thank you" which expresses more gratitude, for something that is a really big deal. When Powder says "thanks" it establishes that Vi has saved Powder's life many times. It shows that Vi has consistently protected Powder from harm.
Second Fall - Powder sets off the bomb and by force, falls off the building. Powder falls off the building and Vi isn't there to save her. Moments after Vi learns that the death of her family was because Powder. Vi then hits Powder and Calls her a Jinx.
NO LONGER PROTECTING HER AND INSTEAD HURTING HER
from that point on Vi is no longer there to protect Powder, which consequently leads her to become Jinx.
Jinx: A mentally screwed up person whose identity is basically insanity.
I think it is fair to say that she is broken, because Vi wasn't there to protect her.

A theory of Vi and Jinx during the opening scene in Arcane which is probably over thinking things *spoilers*
Tumblr media
In the opening scene we see Vi and Powder watching the war go down between Piltover and Zaun.
VI’s hair is the same color as the war’s dust and embers.
I think this is why…
We can see that Vi is protecting Powder, (by holding her hand, and standing in front of Power when talking to Vander) like a big sister does. But she can’t protect Powder against the pink-ish smoke.
I think what this means is that: Yes, Vi is trying to protect Powder, but in reality she is Powder’s downfall.
I mean even though it wasn’t intentional she caused the insanity that Jinx has now. Jinx thought that she killed Vi and the rest of her family, and Vi was the person she cared MOST about.
Vi hurt Jinx REALLY badly (by being “dead” and unable to protect Jinx anymore), causing the transition from Powder to Jinx. And even though Vi keeps trying to fix the problems that she created, she makes Jinx worse. Vi made Jinx’s insanity worse, after starting it. So basically the opposite of protecting her. Vi existing now, triggers and makes things worse for Jinx.
Existing is out of VI’s control, like how the smoke was out of VI’s control.
(I made another post about a different theory I also have about this in case you might want to read that too)
Thanks for reading!

A theory about Vi and the opening scene in Arcane which is probably over thinking things. *spoilers*
Tumblr media
At the beginning of the show we can see that very young Vi and Powder are on the bridge watching the war between Zaun and Piltover.
Anyone else notice that Vi’s hair is pretty much the same color as the background in this scene?
I think this shows that Vi is going to be the cause of the next war. And she is.
Silco had the plan to peacefully get Zaun’s independence, as shown when he was bargaining with Jayce. Silco had shimmer which could make him have an army against Pimtover, but that was always going to Plan B.
Unlike Jinx was the one who shot the bomb to the Piltover Counsel.
Why? Because of Vi. Her insanity was because she thought Vi left her. This insanity got worse when she saw that Vi was still alive.
Vi was the trigger for the bombing. And when there is bombing from one side the other side always fires back. So Vi indirectly started the next war, which is why I think the colors are the same.
(I will post another theory in another post about this topic if you want to read that too)
Anyway thanks for reading!

Something I noticed about Jinx and VI’s outfits which could be overthinking things
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vi photo from: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Aro0EN
If you look at both Vi and Jinx’s pants you can see that they both have the prison stripes. I think this means something.
Character outfits often represent the character’s identity. Like how Jinx has a bunch of hidden “x”s on her out fit, or like how Vi has a bunch of “v”s on her outfit.
So because a lot of VI’s life was spent in jail I think that it is a big part of her, which is why she kept those pants.
For Jinx I think because of her mental issues she feels like a prisoner within her own mind, which I think is one of her biggest identity traits.
What I find even cooler is that Vi has just plain, black and white shorts, but Jinx has colorful pants.
So that plain could be like how physical prison is plain and boring while a mental prison is more color because it is more abstract!
DONT YOU THINK THAT IS SO COOL?!?!?!
Thanks for reading :)

An Arcane theory about the Firelights, Hextec, and Shimmer which is probably over thinking things
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okokokok Soooooo I feel like in Arcane there are three main groups of living (I can’t find the right word). And they each have colors attached to them.
1. The Firelight Rebels - green (firelights, the bugs, are green)
2. Zaun - purple (shimmer)
3. Piltover - blue (hextech)
So something I noticed was that these color all have one thing in common, the color blue.
Green is made of yellow and blue
Purple is made of red and blue
And blue is uh, just blue
And Zaun and the Firelights stem from Piltover. They wouldn’t exist if there wasn’t the rich people in Piltover leaving the poor to fend for themselves. This is kinda like how green and purple wouldn’t exist if there was no blue.
Though the Firelight rebels and Zaun have blue in common (or that they came to be because of Piltover) they also have their differences.
Zaun has red (purple = red + blue). What I think this means if that Zaun is taking the separation from Piltover and using it for harm and over all just has bad motives. Because usually humans in general think red = bad. And Silco doesn’t care that people are become harmed because of shimmer he just wants power and money.
Buuuuuuuutttt
The Firelights have the color yellow (green = yellow + blue). This shows that they are trying to aim for happiness. Echo himself said “it isn’t enough to survive, you need to let people live” (not exactly that quote, more like a gist of it). Over all yellow is a happy free color, which is the exact goal of the Rebels. So the goal that they have in response to being split from Piltover was good and yellow. Also just their overall color green is associated with good. Yellow = happy. Green = good.
And Piltover you ask? Well it is blue. Which is a bit troubling because blue is associated with sad. Which if you think about it, Piltover causes a lot of suffering for a lot of people. Think of everyone in Zaun and in the Firelights they were all suffering, because of piltover.
I guess the main thing that comes out of this is was what suffering and power can become in different hands. If the person who is gaining power from the suffering is bad, it can lead to things like Shimmer and more people suffering. Or if the person is good, there can be significant improvement in the quality of life for a lot of people.
So yeah!! That was a fun connection that I made about the groups of living in Arcane :)
Also I know that I colored the word yellow with orange, but I couldn’t find yellow. So I had to settle with orange. 😬

My thoughts on why Jinx hates Caitlyn, which is probably over thinking things *spoilers*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To state the obvious, Jinx is jealous of Caitlyn and cold to her as well because she doesn’t want to share Vi with someone else.
Ok now with that out of the way, now it is time for a deeper dive…
I think that Jinx is jealous not only because she has to share Vi with Cait, but also because she is jealous of Cait in general.
In Arcane the main characters all have their own style of fighting, and their state of being in general. Caitlyn is calm and serene. Jinx is emotionally explosive and chaotic. Jinx is in a battle internally. All. The. Time. She is constantly hearing and seeing things that remind her of her past. Quite clearly it is clear to see that these hallucinations have a negative impact on her, which pretty much implies that she doesn’t want them. Caitlyn fights with the same weapon that Jinx does and is the color blue like Jinx is (a different shade I know). But I think that Jinx envies the calm that Caitlyn has. Caitlyn is a perfect example of what Jinx COULD have been. It also shows the impact that the separation of Piltover and Zaun has on its people.
I also want to this:
Caitlyn's colors: Blue and purple
Jinx’s color: Light blue
Caitlyn’s eye color: Light blue
Jinx’s eye color: First blue, then purple
Though this could be absolutely a coincidence, it is also a connection to each other. “The eyes are the window to the soul” and I think that in both Caitlyn's and Jinx’s soul lies the same most important thing: Vi.
Caitlyn and Jinx are very similar, which bothers Jinx because Caitlyn is the future that Jinx wanted.
Jinx wanted a stable home, wanted parents, wanted food, but couldn’t have it because of people like Caitlyn and Caitlyn’s family.
Soooooo yeah :)

My thoughts on “oil and water” *spoilers*
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sooooooo Vi says that the mix between her and Caitlyn is “oil and water” they can’t mix. She thinks that they are so different that they can’t be together because neither can change.
So we all know that oil and water don’t mix, and more specifically that oil is water-repellent (hydrophobic), which, along with other science stuff, ends up with oil floating to the top and water staying on the bottom.
In this case we are getting this analogy from VI’s perspective. Water being Zaun, the lower city. And oil being Piltover, the upper city, if you will.
Vi sees people from Zaun as her people, she belongs in water, she doesn’t think badly of them(excluding Silco, and his following), water is good for you. BUT she sees people of Piltover as bad and corrupt, like oil.
During a lot of the series she put all people into these two categories, oil or water, nothing in between.
Of course this changes when she meets Caitlyn, who should be put into the “oil” category, but is proving to be neither corrupt nor bad. She also sees Echo, who is neither “oil” or “water”. And lastly, she no longer falls into either of the categories. So as her relationship with Caitlyn is growing, the categories fade.
This changes when Vi gets triggered. She logically saw that not all of Piltover is out to get her anymore, unlike all of her childhood. Buuuuut she gets triggered when the Council says that they can’t help her. All of the sudden, she gets pulled back into her past where Piltover was out to make her fail, and there were only two categories of people. She then makes the illogical decision that Caitlyn is only “oil” and nothing else. So Vi leaves her.
Here is also something I found cool:
Vi isn’t used to getting what she wants, she isn’t used to being happy. She wants to go to her comfort zone of being alone. So she breaks it off with Caitlyn.
Caitlyn is only used to getting what she wants. All her life she has been given basically whatever she wanted or needed, which is why she was chasing after Vi. That’s she tried to keep them together.
AND I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT IN THE OIL AND WATER SCENE I WAS SOOOOOOO DESTROYED!!!!!! THEY DESERVE TO BE HAPPY TOGETHER!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I’m still sad about that to this day

A Theory About Jinx and Vi’s eyes that is probably over thinking things *spoilers*
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okokokok soooooo at the beginning and for the majority of the show Jinx and Vi both had a pretty similar eye color. This is kind of the only thing that they shared that made them look like sisters. I mean they are pretty much opposites, but more so once they reunite. Blue vs Red, close fighting (Vi) vs far fighting (Jinx). They both choose violence where words could have been fine, but for different reasons, Vi because she is angry, and Jinx because she is scared. Anyway you can tell that they are VERY different, but the one thing that kept them together was their one similarity, their eye color.
When did this change? It changed when Jinx almost died on the bridge.
What started this conflict? Jinx saw that Vi chose Caitlyn over Jinx. Jinx then reeked havoc, like she usually does, and in the process almost ends up killing herself.
Buuuuuut she doesn’t die! Silco takes her to Singed and he saves her, but in the process he gives Jinx shimmer to save her life which consequently changes Jinx’s eye color.
I also feel like this made Jinx closer to Silco because now they both have eyes that are shimmer related.
I think that the events on the bridge severed the unconditional bond that the sisters shared. They still love each other but this is the point where they start to question how much they mean to each other. Jinx at the end even says “Are we even sisters?” And Vi says “Nothing will ever change that” but I am pretty sure it has already changed. Before Vi did ANYTHING for Jinx but now Vi chose Caitlyn instead of supposedly getting Powder back. And Vi chose Caitlyn on the bridge too.
And I know that Jinx shot Silco in the end and not Vi. And this whole post is me saying that Jinx was closer to Silco and farther from Vi. But Jinx was equally prepared to kill Vi as she was to kill Silco. The only difference is that Vi was promising a better life while Silco was only giving Jinx the life that she already had. So that’s that :)
Thanks for reading!! Also this is probably me just over thinking things, but I do think that it is a cool possible connection to be made :)

Why I love Cait x Vi
Tumblr media
From Lee Sana on Pinterest
OH MY I LOVE THIS DUO SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!! HERE IS WHY!!!!!
They have such a good dynamic. It’s a mix of “opposites attract” and just them working well together.
1. Opposites attract. I mean yeah Vi and Caitlyn are superficially different (oil and water 💔). Vi is from a poor background in Zaun, and Caitlyn comes from one of the richest homes in Piltover. Vi is sloppy, Caitlyn is very proper. This just makes them so fun to look at!!! But it also doesn’t mean that they are fundamentally different.
2. They are fundamentally the same. They both do things for the people that they care about. Vi obviously is doing a lot for Jinx, and Cait is doing a lot for Vi. Trading her gun, saving Vi from Sevika, etc. I mean Caits gun is really important to her but she traded it so that she could save Vi AND LEAVE HERSELF DEFENSELESS. They both are SO good at fighting, they both try to prove themselves, and they both want what’s best for Zaun and Piltover. ❤️❤️
3. They work well together. Vi is up close confrontation while Cait can handle the far away confrontation. Vi can represent the undercity and Cait, Piltover. They both have strengths that can be utilized in almost ever setting. There can not be a better couple to balance Piltover.
4. They keep coming back to each other!!!!!!!! “We are oil and water. Not meant to be.” Said Vi. AHEM?!?!?!? SO MEANT TO BE. Vi walks away and Cait can’t stop thinking of her (shower scene). And Vi CLEARLY can’t between her sister Jinx (who she has dedicated her whole life to protecting) and Caitlyn (someone she just got introduced to) hmmmmmm. You can’t tell me they weren’t meant to be!!! Though they had a little break up thing, they came back together in the last episode. LOOK
Tumblr media
They came back together!! And in the trailer for season 2 they were together.!!!!
5. THEY ARE CUTE TOGETHER!!!!!
Thanks for listening :)

VI’s Tattoos are so cooooool!!!!
Tumblr media
Find this photo on Pinterest @deviantart and here on Tumbler :)
VI’s tattoos are the some of the best ones that I have ever seen. Here are some reasons!!
1. First the tattoos are basically all down her back and all down her arms. This must have been PAINFUL to get. This is just another example of how well her character was mapped out. Vi is all about being tough and strong, which is EXACTLY what was achieved with these tattoos! They show sings of strength because it takes a lot of mental strength to withstand this pain, which is also the reason why these make her make her look tough.
2. They are very complex. At first glance it is hard to see why Vi chose to have gears and machinery when she is “punch first” kind of person, so why would she want something like this? There are two possible reasons that I can think of: First there is a theory that I saw by Schnee on YouTube who says it is because it is a reminder that Vi is connected to Jinx because Jinx is all about “if I can’t punch I can shoot” kind of person. Jinx invents and builds which is very much like vibe that VI’s tattoos give off. And so Jinx will forever be apart of Vi.
The second possible reason is that Vi acts not for herself but for others primarily for Jinx. Vi doesn’t have much self preservation, she throws herself into danger and loves chaos. She acts mechanically, she doesn’t do what she want, but what she feel obligated to do. This would connect to the fact that she is made of a metal mechanical frame like the tattoo reflects. The steam in the tattoo can also show that Vi also acts a lot out of anger. If she isn’t acting out of obligation she is acting out of anger, and “letting off steam”!!!!!
AAAAHHHH I find this to be sooooo cool why did the creators of Vi make her so well?!?!?!?! (Not that I am complaining (I mean I am fanning over her so….))
