Back up and running! A Decauville built by Tom Cooper after he parted company with Merlin in the mid 1980’s. Company was called the American Locomotive Company Ltd and was based in Llanfair in Wales. Chassis is based on a Merlin design but with different cylinders and dual safety valve boiler built by his son. His foray into model steam building was short lived and business closed around 1986 or so. After a little fettling engine runs well! Bought a few weeks ago here at Bygone Treasures and now full steam ahead! We now have a very special section at Bygone Treasures of Worthing. Tibetan and Far East art and antiquities. A wide selection of all epochs and styles. All original and authenticated and curated by a specialist in the field. All of the items are museum quality and come from either private collections or from museums themselves. This beautiful stone crystal Buddha was hand carved in the late 17th / early 18th century. In fine condition and still retaining some of the original paint and guilding to the inlays. Stunning patina and gentle wear over the past 200 years this example is from Tibet and was collected during an expedition in the 1970s. Extremely rare and a very large and heavy example at 21cm high and 1.6kg of pure natural rock crystal.
