Putting my back framing kit together again. I had the same gear in the large packout box but I decided to go with the rolling base this time. Gives some extra room to fit a cordless framing nailer and it means less carrying. Thinking about getting some @kaizen_inserts tread sleds as this box will be seeing a lot of stairs. • In the box I’ve got: @boschtoolscanada Freak (IDH182B) and custom bit case (DDMS40) @makitatools 36V circular saw (XSR01) and 36V recip saw (XRJ06) @hilti line laser (PL-2) Along with spare blades and a half size packout organizer for my batteries. • Last thing to add is a “No tools loaded here” sticker from @totaltoolssouthmelbourne and a securing method for the bit case (open to ideas). #freetipfriday .... sometimes a cut can release the tension in the wood causing the blade to bind. Grab a hand spike and use it to wedge open the kerf. This will make your cutting easier and allow your saw to work more efficiently. Is especially helpful on bevel rips. I spent the day firring-in all the patio doors because apparently the supplier does not make 12’ or 9’ door widths as the architect had listed in the window/door schedule (only 141” and 106-1/2”). “There and back again.” . What an experience driving to Alaska and back. Drove through BC bottom to top. Went through the Yukon, stopping in Whitehorse. Meeting up with family in Tok, AK we headed north to Fairbanks, then south through Denali to Anchorage and Seward. Next was an extended stay in Homer watching the sunset over the Kenai range. After getting back through Anchorage we headed east though Glennallen and back to Tok. Saw the same roads going the other direction through the Yukon and took a new route south which included a detour to Stewart, BC and Hyder, AK. Just the canyon and we are back where we started.
