My gallery was a mess, and thought I should make my artworks easier to view. I'll be reposting them soon.

But from now on, I'll probably only post previews of the pieces and share the rest as links (to websites like bsky or pillowfort that don't actively sell/use user data to train AI)

@re-tamales, I tested on the latest drawing I finished, and these were the results that I got:

Weaker intensity and fastest render quality gives the most decent result, but it also means the poison isn't as effective.

And no matter what setting, areas with big flat colors still get wrinkled and discolored.

I tried ArtShield, and it doesn't give any visible changes to the original art! :D

Do mind the current limitations, though! I'd say it's still better than nothing :3

Adding Glaze on top of that makes it look worse :((

The final result looks like a wet tissue.

They don't seem to work well with flat, stylized coloring...

im not sure if youre still here but reachartwork is very clearly pro ai art and all that entire post was pretty much designed to demoralize and be a psychological blow that ai is already past being wrangled back in, but its still not and much like how that whole learning generation bullshit "learns" how to bypass stuff it also means there are going to be counters against that.

not just that but remember that were all still in a early stage of this whole fuckery. lies can run across the world several times before the truth has its boots on. rampant thievery and abuse happens faster before the safelines can be put up. were in the wild west period of ai bullshit and its also very critical to not lose hope

that person has very clearly left out the fact people are not taking this down and sueing those things left and right, and the fact that someone who tried to copyright something using ai art lost severely. do not lose hope. nightglaze can and still will work. another thing to remember is that ai scrapers are also lazy as shit and even that "1% gaussian blur" means they have to do something other than copy paste and barriers like that can demotivate THEM into giving up

please know its not hopeless. please know art is still worth all the passion you can express. please know its not all fucked up bullshit.

it might be rough, but once the regulations are up and more of those losers get sued into oblivion and laws refined, thing will get better

So, if you heard the news, tumblr does indeed plan to sell off data from deactivated blog posts, deleted posts, drafted posts etc. to AI scraping companies.

It may be already late, despite the opt-out button only available on PC version.

Trying to decide if I should delete the entire blog or just the posts with artworks that I put effort into rendering.

i feel quite bad for people who are convinced nightshade and glaze are going to fix the balance of power in the art world because it really won't. they're quite useless and extremely easily circumvented, but trying to tell anyone this results in you getting shouted down. buddy i wish it worked too!

What is this about the tumblr staff wanting to sell art data to midjourney?

An ex-colleague of mine mentioned yesterday that there may be contacts between Automattic and midjourney in that direction, but nothing is public yet and I don't have any more info. They probably won't have anything specific to share either, since they left the company weeks ago too. That being said:

I have no reason to doubt my ex-coworker word, they are a trustworthy person.

Tumblr's CEO has been absurdly enthusiastic (comically, even) about AI, and is a big fan of LLMs and 'AI' companies.

A deal with midjourney could solve tumblr financial issues (not the same company, but openAi is paying up to 5 million/year to news companies to use their content as training data... tumblr generates several orders of magnitude more content than any newspaper or any media company and it only would need a 20 to 30 million per year deal to be profitable)

So I don't have any extra info yet, but I'm keeping my ears open.
