Now with video! This is Philas who is a character created by @wolfertinger666 who allowed me to make my own version of him. I loved what he wrote about his character so i will quote it directly: "Philas represents the boys who aren't allowed to, or don't want to change their bodies, but live and fight like hell to be a man." So i named this figure "boys will be boys"!

I tried to directly copy the original style for him at first but i really didn't do it justice and because this figure is for my own shelf i decided to chill a little with this. Since i already took so many liberties with the design i decided to have some fun with the paint too and shade him really roughly and with a very limited palette, i think it really fits the "emotion" of this piece.

I've sculpted several of @yugsly 's characters before and one thing that's really cool about their style is that the design is extremely consistent and actually works in 3D despite being so heavily stylized

Commissioner pretty much did the entire job for me by designing the pose and the base and everything x) i barely had any work to do! It's always fun to paint characters with a small color palette and big fat bold lines, really makes everything POP. Super happy with the boi

HELLO THERE!!! I'm terrible at sculpting, of course, but I love to sculpt, and I wanted to ask - what kind of clay do you use? I see posts tagged with sculpey, but what kind, exactly? And if I may also ask, what kind of paint, finish, etc.? (Materials overall, honestly ^^; I've worked with a few different types of clay before and they're all rather crumbly and sad when it comes to the thinner bits. Are you just very careful, or is it in the material?)

I am genuinely adoring this work from you, you're such a good sculptor!!! I'm sure you hear that very often but I've genuinely never seen anything like what you're making here.

First of all thank you so much for this sweet ask and jokes on you i already had a horrible cough for weeks last month so i'm afraid of nothing anymore!

If you love to sculpt then you are good at sculpting PERIOD because it really all comes down to repetition and practice and if you enjoy what you're doing you're gonna get better fast so don't give up! First of all i wanna link my list of book recommendations because that's what i do.

For clay, what i use and what i can really recommend to anyone is "Super Sculpey". It's not too expensive and it's incredibly forgiving because it's not air dry clay (which requires you to work fast) but polymer clay (needs to be baked in a normal oven to harden). You can sculpt something, let it stand around a few days, sculpt some more and nothing dries out. You can add more onto the sculpture after baking it later on if you want, too. You will need to build an armature for it for the thin parts and i just use wire and tinfoil, super basic stuff, no rocket science and nothing expensive or special. And sure you can get some fancy sculpting tools and rubbing alcohol and liquid sculpey and what not but really the basic stuff you need is just sculpey and wire and you're good to go. And then you can see if you like doing this stuff and slowly expand. Same for the paint, i use citadel and revell acrylics for my figures now but i used to paint them with cheapo no name brand acrylics for YEARS and it works too. Maybe it's just me because i don't have a lot of money but often it's not that great of an idea to start buying the thousand euro amazing expert kit but to actually start simple and kinda "grow into" the material if that makes sense. You see some absolute mega pro professional sculptors and they use like... a toothpick. And i'm like WHAT but they just mastered the material they work in and then the tools almost don't matter. I'm sure i forgot half of what i wanted to say so here's my FAQ for just a basic material list.

Actually, i never hear that ever and you are super super sweet, thank you so much. The things i hear are usually "People PAY you for this??" or "Ah, you're still making your little figure things?" or "Oh my kids play with clay too!" so yea making figures is GREAT lmao. But my motto is never let negative people stop you from making mediocre things!

The future of hell belongs to the Vees! And so does my heart, i love these horrible people. After sculpting Valentino i immediatly regretted not adding Vox and Velvette to the figure so i just had to fix that. They shall not be seperated.

Vox was really chill to do with his flat face, Velvette was kinda tricky because she has so many fun outfits and hairstyles i wasn't sure what to go for, so now it's this mishmash. Since it's just a figure for me i don't mind~

I hate to start drama so please forgive me, but why would you create a figure of a character (Valentino) that is a rapist? Even if they're fictional, I think it sends a really bad message.

No offense taken at all, anon, but this will be a long one! I heard of other people who like villains getting similar messages but i've never gotten one myself despite all the things i've made fanart for in the past. So i'm almost happy to talk about this?

It's 100% fine to hate certain fictional characters and just not wanting to see them at all. I think many people (especially with trauma) can relate to seeing a character in media that just makes them feel sick, i sure know some! But you're also talking to a dedicated horror nerd here. I have an expensive action figure of a monster-pregnant half skinned man in my shelf, anon. Rape doesn't even BEGIN to cover what some of the characters i like have been doing in their little fake freakworlds.

I love to explore horror and dark themes because fiction gives you a space to do this in a secure controlled environment and that's why it's so wonderful. We all have different levels of hard topics we can handle but if something is too much for you you can step away, shut it off and you are free and safe. No, i would not enjoy to be skinned alive for real and i don't think it's a very nice thing to do to others either, i have zero sympathy or interest in real life criminals. But Hellraiser is still a neat book!

I'm an adult and I'm able to freely chose what kind of themes and media i want to interact with and so are you. I mean, i don't know if you're an adult, but you have the power to chose regardless. My nickname is CADAVERcrafts and i made so so so so much fanart for awful villains before, ones who did way worse things than Valentino. Ripping heads off, killing kids, eating people- you know, the usual! I'm afraid you're not gonna like many things i'll make in the future but i always tag everything so you can absolutely avoid it by putting it on your blacklist. No Valentino jumpscares on your dash from me!

To be quite honest i thought of a lot of kinda funny dismissive replies at first but i don't want to shit on people who are genuinly upset. If you want something trigger tagged in the future just shoot me a message, i like to claim i'm not nearly as much of an asshole as the characters i make in clay. And if you just can't stand it then unfollow me, throw me in the bin! I'm just some online weirdo, you don't need me in your life if my works make you sad. Toss it, it's cool, this is your playzone and you get to decide who gets in!

Hard to photograph but VERY easy to paint lmao it‘s Father from the show "Codename: kids next door" and also a little rainbow monkey for a dash of color. This show wasn‘t super popular in my country when i was a kid so i never watched it much but i loved trying to get that style right, the shapes of the burnt trees in the background are pretty much directly based on screenshots. And as always, making figures of characters who don't really get merch is my favourite thing!

Okay i know it took me 900 years but i just learned that i can add an image description to photo posts for people with screen readers!
