I thought a lot about how I would feel once I finished 9-1-1.
Although I wanted to turn the page, but i had to watch the last two episodes hoping to change my mind.
I loved the final scene in 4x13, the idea of the camera turning on them, them looking at each other, the absence of music.
I wondered how they can get back from this. They knew what they were doing and although it wasn't just them on stage, I only saw them, thanks to their undeniable chemistry.
We arrive at the 4x14 episode… full of nice words, but nothing concrete.
- You become Cristopher's legal guardian,
- Eddie worrying that Buck is hurt,
- The collapse of buck,
- Waking up in the hospital,
- Eddie calling Buck "Evan"
- You act like you’re expendable, but you’re wrong
We do not get to realize anything.
The scenes feel a lot more like a slow burn than a friendship, but by now we know that it isn't.
This is a queerbait.
Every now and then they give the fans a sop, every now and then they take a step forward and then 10 back.
Because the reality is that they don't know how to put them together, they don't know how to make a couple out of nothing. Sorry, I meant that they don't know how to create a couple made up of same-sex characters.
As I always say if they were a man and a woman we won't even be talking about them.
In 2021 they don't know how to do it, it sucks.
But again they prefer a silly (in this case) straight relationship, than trying to see how it could have gone.
We can also talk about Ana, who is swept away by Buck's bulky presence. How their story has neither a beginning nor an end. How she looks more like a piece of furniture than a character.
Nobody cares that they don't like them, nobody cares that they don't have chemistry, it just matters that they are together. Even after Carla's words that at this point they could not put.
We get to the kisses of Buck and Taylor (I repeat I love the character of Taylor) but even here it seems very forced.
There is no story between them, there is nothing now. At least they could have actually made them friends and then developed the story. Instead we find ourselves at the starting point, an undeveloped story just to not prove nothing else.
Was it necessary for the plot? No, definitely not, but after all the buddie scenes, balance had to be restored.
Buck is straight, Eddie is straight, there are no other possibilities.
The point is that we are satisfied with the crumbs.
Because at the end of the day the problem isn't the chemistry between Buck and Eddie, it's that they are two men.
I wanted to end this show but I kept coming back.
I was hoping it wasn't a queerbait, but it is.
Now I'm ready to let go.
It was a good ride.

I see a lot of hatred against Buddie fans.
I also see free bouts among couples fans, But i personally don't think that's the point of the situation.
I believe Queerbait is wrong.
I believe that the actress who plays Carla has answered the questions of the fans in a misunderstanding way, in order to stir them up.
I can't say she did it unconsciously.
We saw her say that she would have solved everything and then this turned against us.
By saying that we fans get things wrong.
We saw two years of a relationship between Buck and Eddie, where they turned around, where they got closer and closer, we saw some frankly misunderstood dialogues and we saw scenes that led more to a slow burn than just friendship.
And here, too, we heard that they were doing it to stir up the fans.
We sat through the jokes about Buck and Eddie made for example by Maddie or for example by the elf in the Christmas episode.
Here, too, it was said that the jokes were put there because that is what the fans thought, from the vision of the fans.
The point isn't what the fans think, it's not Taylor and it's not Ana either. It's not about putting on two female characters just to be a straight couple.
I'm sorry for the character of Ana, I don't like it and for me they don't have chemistry, definitely not helped by the story they didn't give them.
The opposite is Taylor, I like her character, I like her evolution.
The point is, I would like to see them (Buck and Taylor) in friendship, try to explore a different sexuality, but I know she is there to be a straight couple.
The point is not the couples in the show. The point is that in 2021 we are still taking advantage of couples we like to turn them into Queerbait. Then when the fans rightly say they have seen something else they are attacked.
The fans are arrogant, the fans are stupid, the fans don't understand.
It doesn't center the acting of the protagonists, I love Oliver Stark and Ryan Guzman. I like them, they are good actors, they have very strong scenes and they carry them out very well.
That's not the point, it's not when they're good, the point is that they showed something they knew perfectly well they didn't want to carry on. All this just to stir up the fans.
Once, rightly so, the fans got excited, let's start with the classic speeches:
we cannot speak only of this
we just wanted to play with the fans….
That's no good. It is not ok.
It is not good that in 2021 we cannot experience a sexuality other than heterosexuality.
It's no good that in 2021, all we can do with an initially straight character is continue to be straight.
It is not ok. Queerbait is not ok.
It's not a question of fans of different couples. That's not the point.
The point is, it's not fair. It's not fair to create a Queerbait and then expect no one to say, look, I've seen something else.
It's not about the actors, it's not about the characters, it's about their sexuality.
It is on the misconception that sexuality still exists in 2021. It is on the fact that in order not to try to take a leap into the void and actually try to find out what could be there, we prefer to stage random straight couples.
The point is, if Eddie or Buck were women we wouldn't even be talking. The point is, it's not ok.
I can't say that Buddie's fans (myself included) have gotten excited about nothing. I can't even say it's not fair that they don't feel bad about it.
This is not what I have seen in 2 years of the show.
It's not that it all ends and starts with Buddie… it's just something we have seen grow up and then be told they are "brothers".
In 2021 it's not ok.
Not being able to describe a sexuality other than heterosexuality just because the character is initially placed in that way is not ok.
We don't have to pass it off as the right thing.
It's not ok… and it has to be said.
Naturally this is just my thoughts.

I admit I don't know what Fox's problem is.
It's hard to think that incorporating more sexuality into a show isn't the problem. But beyond this the real problem is that in 2021 we still prefer to have a heterosexual couple than a homosexual one. With all the sexualities that could be explored.
They wanted to make us infatuated with the idea of Buck and Eddie together, but only with the idea.
The point is that they went too far, we can't pretend we haven't seen those looks, those scenes, those ambiguous dialogues.
The problem is they made us believe in something they would never carry out.
Worse than Queerbait, here the queerbait disguises itself as a slow burn.
Speaking for the couple made up of ana and Eddie, we can also forget that the two have no chemistry, so now nobody seems to care. But at least they could have taken more time to build a story. They have no chemistry. The story is stupid… but I'm straight so it's okay.
Why should we like this story?
Because they are a straight couple.
The point is not that we want a story between two men, the point is that we want the evolution of everything we've seen in two years of the show.
We want the buddie to have a chance, not only because of the undeniable chemistry between the two actors, but also because they showed us an evolution in their relationship that they didn't have the guts to realize.
I decided to take a break from this show after the 4x08 episode, but I wanted to say something after the video posted on the Bromance between buck and eddie and after the senseless publicity that Fox does to the couple ana and eddie.

After the end of the first part of season 4 I need to take a break from 9-1-1. The video is my way to momentarily close with all this. Hoping to return later in a reality where a couple is not shown just to make an audience (queerbait) and where there is no pre-established sexuality for the characters.
It has been a nice trip.

After the last episode I had to think a lot about taking an actual break from 9-1-1.
I think a lot of fans have gotten excited about the couple because of all the ambiguous scenes the two have. If they hadn't made them a queerbait I don't think we would still be talking about it. Having said that, I personally believe they are wasting a lot of chemistry and above all a story that could have been very powerful indeed. I also believe that in 2021 we should stop giving pre-printed sexuality to the characters. Maybe try to see how things go, like in normal life. Having said that at least he could put Eddie with a female character (because we will only see him straight) with at least a little chemistry. In my opinion the two have no chemistry at all.
I think I can't pretend not to have seen all the looks at each other, the ambiguous dialogues and above all the way the two behave with cris. Maybe it's time to really take a break, because I think I don't have to go through this shit in 2021.
Enough of queerbait, enough of stereotyped sexuality, enough of such situations.

Then Misha asks what more could have been done ... assuming that I don't think the actors are to blame ... the main problem is that even now they don't talk about it ... every time a character deviates from a pre-established sexuality they don't talk about it ... which is exactly what happened ... There was a declaration of love and then it was never mentioned again ...
How is it possible that we don't talk about it? How is it possible that every time we have to give characters a very specific sexuality and we cannot go on? Why can't we avoid always falling into the same stereotypes?
The question is not what they could have done more, it's what they should have avoided doing.
We need to stop giving pre-printed sexuality to the characters.
We need to stop putting out love declarations that we don't want to talk about. We need to stop pretending it never happened. We are in 2020 and we are still facing something that cannot be talked about. We can't even know how it ends or what it might have been like because they just didn't have the courage to show it to us.
Honestly, I don't understand how we could have shot the last episode without one of the main characters (Castiel) and say that everything is fine.
For me this was a show about family, about life, about fighting always and in any case. In the end, there is no longer a family, everyone is dead and there is a sense of resignation that is difficult to bear.
What could they have done more? Do better. because nothing is right.

I thought that there could be nothing worse than the ending of the 100 ... the point personally is not the relation between dean and castiel, even if a voiceover would been enough for the fans, even just a dialogue inherent to what happened in 15x18. Something that said, okay it happened. Although dean had cried and prayed for castiel back under any circumstances, in any damn season. But you know what happens whenever there is doubt about a very specific sexuality on a show. Or rather you know when a character may not be straight. Honestly in 2020 I really can’t take it anymore. I just a have to ask myself what was the use of castiel confession, at this point they could avoid it. They put us in front of something they weren’t willing to handle. Now beyond the couple, what hurt the most is how they treated castiel after everything he had been through. I’m sorry I can’t blame COVID. Honestly, a VoiceOver would have been enough. I think I deserve more than this ending. More than a character who died after a confession that mean nothing and more than a character who died in the most stupid way possible. This is about not knowing how to manage a relationship that they have carried on. At this point maybe it was better not to put the 15x18 scene, what was the use? I am of the opinion that when you insert something in a series, especially in the last episode, it should lead to something. Instead we only had silence. Of course I don’t blame the actors. I blame the authors, they put as in the condition. Once again having having to come to terms with the narrow views of sexuality, of acceptance. And something that never goes out of line.

So ... after 12 seasons ... this is the end of castiel. To be alone in the empty . Leaving out for a moment the declaration of love towards dean. Is this really the end the character deserves?
